Wow! I think you may have a bit of a food obsession that could be bordering on an eating disorder. I'm not trying to be mean because I think it's beautiful that you're so well informed about wholefoods but sometimes it's good if people gently question our relationship to food. I didn't feel as though I had any problems getting enough protein in pregnancy on a wholefood plant based diet. I also didn't suffer any morning sickness having been very clean eating leading up to my pregnancy. What I want to say with my comment is that there's a million different ways to do things well and as long as people try to minimise stress, sleep and eat well and not use drugs or stimulants then all will be well if there are no other health complications. I think it would be helpful to make women aware to be cautious that some common culinary herbs can serve as emmenagogues, for example parsley, lovage, celery and rosemary and to use them with care and awareness. Nettle and raspberry leaf can be very helpful if gathered, dried and stored correctly, but I still wouldn't consume them every day except in the final week or two. I wish you wellness and hope you can take this observation not as a criticism but maybe as something to reflect upon. Do you really feel it so much if you don't have your raw carrots? I think you'd do just fine to skip a day or three...

Hi Helen! Thank you for your comment. I assure you in that pregnancy I was quite lax about missing a day of these particular items. Maybe I sounded more strict in the video. In any case, I went on to have a very healthy pregnancy. Although I do agree that there are many routes to a healthy pregnancy as well.

what if i can't eat any of this? My nausea is bad first trimester and my aversions are deep
@TransformedHomemakersSociety6 күн бұрын
First tri is always a wash for me. Probably until like 20 weeks. I do my best but probably don’t do any of what I say in this video until at least 17 weeks and even then it’s hit or miss. Don’t stress it! Focus on protein as much as possible even though it sounds repulsive.

Do you worry about the lead and cadmium in oysters?
@TransformedHomemakersSociety2 жыл бұрын
I don’t, and here’s the link for why: www.crownprince.com/warnings.htm?fbclid=IwAR2iTDHR9Ld348WsxrTvTl4tgQtK4-YwwXqySEmOGnOdA844yTUPtOEHLdY The minerals far outweigh the risks in my opinion. But if it doesn’t feel right to you then I would hold off.

Has this made you feel different? I was fine w iron during pregnancy but anemic postpartum
@TransformedHomemakersSociety11 ай бұрын
I will probably make an updated video on how I’m doing things differently with my current pregnancy. I’m doing things slightly differently and have noticed improvements. I was only sliiiiightly low iron in the pregnancy I was in when I filmed this video.

Hi :) Did you take cod liver oil your whole pregnancy? And did you stop a certain amount of time before giving birth?
@TransformedHomemakersSociety6 ай бұрын
Hi! I took it the entire time (except the first trimester when I couldn't stomach anything). :) I never stopped before birth. Of course, consult your midwife or OB!

Do you still stand by these supplements?
@TransformedHomemakersSociety Жыл бұрын
Very wise to be asking this! I do stand by all these. The only thing I would do differently is take a prenatal (without iron) just to be sure I’ve covered ALL my bases if I have a day where diet is not so good. The one I like is called FullWell prenatal multivitamin. Linked below. It’s one of the best I’ve found without all the other nasty ingredients and actually has ENOUGH of the vitamins necessary to support a healthy pregnancy. The only issue is you have to take 8 pills. Oh, also with the adrenal cocktails I’ve removed those (don’t want that much sugar in my diet) and just do a mix of cream of tartar and sea salt a couple times a day. amzn.to/3GhTeQF

@@TransformedHomemakersSocietyThanks! I’ve been taking Baby and Me 2 but will look into your recommendation. I also take an iron supplement sporadically to make sure my ferritin level is optimal. Plus, calcium, vit d , NAC at minimum levels to make I’m covered. It’s really hard and expensive to get everything through food. Do you know the research on decaf coffee or caffeine under 50mg? I have never been a coffee drinker but find myself craving it now. The research I find is even 50-200mg caffeine is harmful but what about less than 50mg decaf? 🤔 Thank you for your reply. Best wishes for your beautiful family and channel!

So I’ve always stood by the research that one cup of coffee a day is fine. I would highly recommend the book “Real Food for Pregnancy” by Lily Nichols. She has hundreds of citations on research she used to back her claims and she has a whole section in the book about caffeine. If you aren’t a coffee drinker but crave caffeine, maybe a really good dark chocolate would do the trick? You’d also get some important minerals at the same time!
