This is a slick chart hack! What a novel way to give a second chance to all the lower indicators which were previously shelved. This just created a whole new backtesting opportunity to find algorithm puzzle pieces. VP mentioned it a wise idea to put your indicators on a flash drive for safe keeping. A great idea, not only as a back up for safety purposes but organizational, as well. Coincidently, my backtesting includes a screenshot of what each indicator looked like on the chart and when I created sub directory folders for "trending", "entry", "exit", "volume"...whatever I was working on when I downloaded and stored the file - or I'd never remember what each one looked like. Heck, for the OCD crowd, I guess you could even rank them based on the ROI or win/loss rate. Very cool...eh?

Another great video as always!!! I built a fully customizable TDI from scratch that does not repaint using this method about 4 months ago, after I Googled how the TDI was constructed. Anybody can do this in about six easy steps. I tweaked a couple of the components that makes this a better indicator than the original( in my opinion), anybody can do this also. There is a signal on the indicator that involves three lines that is a very good signal when it happens. Hint: the RSI line is not visible on the indicator in my tweeked version nor the original version that you would download, the calculations just run in the background. I will list the steps for anyone that does not want to give up on the TDI just yet, and the signal as long as VP does not mind that I use his comment section. The paragraph for all the steps will probably be about twice the size of this paragraph.( To see the instructions on how to make a TDI tap on" view replies" and read the long one that has the😎😎 at the beginning of it)

The green line is a 2 period SMA, the red line is a 7 period SMA, the yellow line is the midline of a 34 period Bollinger band and the blue lines are the outer Bollinger Bands. So where is the RSI? It runs in the background as part of the calculation for these three indicators. I do not use mt4 I use a web-based platform called Tradingview. Refer to VP's video for the technicals on how to put one indicator on top of another as my platform is a little different.STEPS 1. Apply a13 period RSI( the following three indicators are all applied to RSI NOT to close) 2. Apply a 2 period SMA color green 3. Apply a 7 period SMA color red 4. Apply a Bollinger band, change the length to 34 color the midline yellow and the outer bands blue. 5. Hide the RSI line and the 70 and 30 Zone lines so you can not see them. 6. To test if everything was applied correctly and is working correctly, change the RSI value from 13 to 5. When you hit apply watch the indicator, all the lines should change simultaneously because you changed part of their calculation by changing the RSI value. 6. Now put the RSI back to 13. YOU ARE DONE!! You can now change every component of this TDI, with the test you saw how you could change the whole indicator just by moving the RSI value up or down. You can change the periods of the moving averages, you can even change the style of moving average(ema,hull,weighted ,smoothed,ect.) you can change the yellow line by changing the length of the Bollinger Bands, or the blue Lines by changing the standard deviation. You can change one thing or you can change it all. The changes that I have made so far is I have changed the 2 period SMA to a 3 period Ema and the 7 period SMA to a 8 period EMA. Why? Because I get less whipsaw and less false signals. What is a pretty good signal with my tweaked version? For a long trade, when the green line is crossing up over the red line and at the SAME time the red and green lines are crossing up over the yellow line go long. For a short trade when the green line is crossing down under the red line and at the SAME time the red and green lines are crossing down under the yellow line go short. Wait for the lines to fully cross even if you have to wait an extra day otherwise you risk the red and green lines bouncing off the yellow line and not Crossing. For continuation trades if the red and green lines are above the yellow you are in an uptrend, if the red and green lines are below the yellow you are in a down trend. For an uptrend continuation,if the green line pulls back to the red and bounces back up or crosses below, when it crosses back above the red, as long as both lines are above the yellow that is potentially a signal for a continuation of the uptrend. Reverse that for a down trend. I'm sure that somebody out there can tweak this indicator even better than I have so far, as I have not exhausted all the moving average types, so far I have just gotten to EMA's, nor have I exhausted all the combinations of period values for all four indicators. So this gives you something to play with in your journey to find your own great indicator. Even if you do not like the TDI you can see the power of applying one or more indicators on top of a base indicator. As an example before I started this comment I used the single line indicator called Momentum instead of the RSI as my first indicator and it worked well and gave the TDI a slightly different look because the calculations for Momentum are different than RSI. I hope I did not leave any steps out and I was able to explain it clearly ,if not let me know. VP You are right. It’s all possible. After 7 months of testing my algorithm gives me 9% per month on average without any money management. Using MM it is all different universe so guys keep on working and you will find your own way. All you need to do is to put in few thousands of housers testing this shit and once you finish stick to it. Use and abuse. P.s. VP I like the way you approach trading. Very similar to mine. Just a quick heads up for the people using the waddah attar explosion volume indicator. I have merged the waddah attar with the squeeze_break indicator on the setting [boll 30;2 kelt 50; 1,5 Mom 18] I've also added a zero line. In terms of the colour scheme, the only line that's visible is number 2 the rest is none. Using this volume indicator this way has worked wonders for me. Let me know what you think

Hey VP, I'm wondering, are you able to upload videos in 1080p? The higher quality really makes a difference when we're looking at charts. Maybe the screen capture software you're using has a limitation to the quality, but it's probably just a matter of going into the settings and changing the recording/export quality. A Nonlag 21 MA works just as well on M30 or H1 chart. You can add Trix (9) at the bottom for comparison, if you have it.

Do you have a list of indicators (good and bad) that we can use as an outline for our indicator research? Use MT4 charting software with your Oanda account, it works.

If you are using the web-based platform of Oanda they use Tradingview charts, you can go to Tradingview.com and sign up a free account I think they allow you to apply indicators over other indicators on their free version you just need to sign up to save all your templates and data.( if you like the charts on the oanda web-based platform) if not you can use mt4 as Walt Bateman suggested.

I use a 50EMA and a 200EMA on my charts. I like looking at them. I do not trade by them but I feel they would work. I use them as general mind filling info.

I’m having difficulties dragging the moving average down got add it to the indicator or is it just me?

You should drag it from the Navigator window (should be on the left side, under accounts). If You can't find the Navigator window, add it from the top menu: View > Navigator
