Hey buddy if you do go to living in one and I hope yall do I would suggest putting solar in. It will save yall a lot of money in the long run living in one especially winter. I've lived in campers for 8 + years in my life at different times and winter time was expensive and was tuff dealing with propane bottles. I had room for 2 30pound bottles in last camper and I thank GOD I did cause I was going through a 30 pound bottle every 2 and a half days running central heat in camper but it kept me warm with no problem and spring to fall I would only use 1 to 1 and a half 30 pound bottle for cooking and hot water. I sure wished I would've had solar. It's just a suggestion and I hope it might help you and others! Take care and Happy Trails my friend!

You would hate the tiny waste tanks full timing. Find a 9.5' if your truck will handle it. So much better and easier to empty. Otherwise if you use the shower you will be dumping every day or other day...or notshowering.

Just found you’re truck camper videos. My wife and I truck camp also, we’re going to Golf Shores this weekend. We are hooked because it’s so simple. You can park just about any where. It’s amazing at the room you have in your truck bed if you have a truck camper. We have a 2500 Dodge Ram with a Bigfoot camper.
@NoNonsenseKnowHow4 жыл бұрын
Awesome! I appreciate you checking the channel out. We are hooked as well so far. By far my favorite aspect is the fact that you can park in any parking spot. We like to check out dive bars in random towns while traveling and the truck camper makes it easy to do so. I always wanted to get the Bigfoot, but haven't found a deal on one. They are pretty hard to come by in my area. Sounds like a nice rig you have though.

When I was 11 we moved back to Canada from Germany - Dad's next posting was in Comox on Vancouver Island. He and Mom bought a Datsun pickup - a King Cab with a diesel engine and 5 speed transmission. FIFTY HP! A few months later Dad found a used Okanagan truck camper in Calgary and he and I drove there and back to pick it up. It was a great trip and I have fond memories! It was pretty basic - no AC, no bathroom, and the main bed was the dinette. My bed folded out up top and Dad only had to sit up and hit his head on it once for me to be relocated to the tent, with the dog for company. We kept it when we moved to Calgary the year after and had it for a couple more years. Family camping trips were such good times. 20 plus years later in Ottawa where we live, my wife and I decided that camping - campERing, sorry - would be fun with our two year old daughter. For eleven years we did just that, first in a pop up and then in one travel trailer followed by another. I agree with you on the Fantastic fan - I've installed a few and they're great! Always with a shroud so they can be run one the road and/or in the rain. Camping was the best kind of family time for us. Thanks for the tour of you great truck camper. It kinda makes me want to get back out there....
@kennethwhite78292 жыл бұрын
I really truly had no idea that they still made those kinds of campers....my grandparents had 1 like that when I was a child... grandparents had it in a dodge 3/4 ton 4 on the floor with a granny gear... we used to take trips all over the U.S.A with that rig... I was probably about 6-9 before it got to where they could not go any more...in that rig anyway... then they got a motor home... I loved that motor home... I could lay r play games with my sister in the bed while they drove one of them got tired of driving needed a nap and boom..go take a nap...a/c worked good to while we were going down the road.... I think the generator had to be running for the A/C to work while it was not plugged in to a outlet like at a campground... it was a blast....

Yeah that would be cool. Maybe I'll go stop by a camper store sometime and do a couple other video tours. Pricing has many different variables and the markets constantly changing. Completed sold items on eBay or a pretty good reference and also what people have things listed for on Marketplace or Craigslist.

Lance makes probably the best 8' Camper Going. I have a longer one so I could have actual grey/black tanks. I would go crazy with the placement of the release valves and connectors in the 8'. Something to look out for the "C Channel" escape hatch SUCKS IMHO. If it cracks and breaks it is very difficult finding a correctly sized replacement. Clean it up and clean your AC UNIT and put some kind of UV protectant on them. You should swap out your ordinary vent in the bathroom for one with a fan. It might even be prewired for it.. Lance does a good job of running wires. All in all it's tough to be the design of a lance camper. I think their kitchen layout is way better than the Northen Lites. Plus I do NOT like carpet in a camper it simply makes no sense. I took all the carpet off the step into the bunk and in the cab area too. The 8' is pretty awesome for weekends. I didn't think I would like the extra overhang until I got it and when parked WOW it is so much bigger inside. You do pay a weight penalty though. The newer Lances with the slides are way too heavy for a non-dually. But a 9-10' Lance in an older model is light enough for a 3/4 ton if you beef up the springs or get air bags. I really liked your video. I actually looked for an 8' model but they are super hard to find as there is so much demand. In order for me to tow I need to replace my entire hitch system and its a lot of money to throw at it. Plus the longer ones take up so much room in a parking spot. But it's a small price to pay. So much better than pulling a Trailer for my needs. I resealed the entire roof after I got it "just in case".... and it is long tedious miserable job. If you plan on using it a lot upgrade the onboard inverter and go Lithium.

@NoNonsenseKnowHow29 күн бұрын
The jacks have a manual override. I suppose most electric awnings probably have the same though so yeah I guess electric is the way to go as long as there is a secondary mechanical means to open and close
