Belichik’s only 19 wins away from breaking Shula’s record at 71 he’s got 3 more years left in him, but he can break that record especially now that the league has 17 game season. During a good chunk of Shula’s career, the league had 14 game seasons, that’s why his achievement is quite remarkable. Other records unlikely to be broken are Tom Brady 22 seasons as an effective starter, 7 Super Bowls, 10 Super Bowl appearances. Bill Belichik winning coach of 6 Super Bowls, 9 Super Bowl appearances. The only active player close to where Tom Brady is, is Patrick Mahommes 2 Super Bowls and 3 Super Bowl appearances, he’s still young, but we don’t know how long he’ll play.

@@jamesjames522 bruh, he was the only reason the lions even won a game, they relied on him so much, they were probably ruining the enjoyment of the game for him, also he was getting older and with the amount of handoffs he would get, he had a very high chance of injury. Emmitt is good but would never be as good as Barry was, 25k yards is a lot but yes, if Barry played as long as Emmitt did, he would definitely have the record by at least 2k yards

Emmitt played long enough to specifically break his record which is BS
@j-remy9832
@j-remy9832 3 жыл бұрын
Okay, lets look at thier first 10 seasons and do some basic math. Emmitt Smith rushed for 13,963 with a top 3 all-time Offensive line as well as Moose blocking for him. Barry Sanders rushed for 15,269 yards with a one or two good offensive lineman spread out separately throughout his career. Who's really the better back, and it took Emmitt 15 years to get a tad over 3,000 yards more than Barry got in 10.

It's a minor record but Phil Simms's 22 of 25 in Superbowl 21 for an 88% completion rate is a Superbowl record that is probably unbeatable. Pretty amazing especially considering that one of his 3 incompletions was a throw away to avoid a sack.

Technically the Chicago Cardinals had a longer losing streak of 29 consecutive losing games from 1942 Week 6 to 1945 Week 3 (Also only team in NFL history to have back-to-back winless seasons.). The reasons why most people don't realize is because it involves the Card-Pitt merger team.

Since the league added more games they should really distinguish in what record in what time period or like consider doing it on a per game average. I would have included Bruce Smith's 200 career sacks in this video as well. Despite the new 17 game season, no defensive player will ever average 10+ sacks a season for 20 seasons, or 15+ sacks a season for 14 seasons that would be required to break the record. The player from modern era who came the closest was Julius Peppers at 159.5 after a 16 season career. 40.5 sacks away is still not close.

Pretty much all of these could be broken before anyone breaks any of Tom Brady’s post season records. His playoff wins, yards, touchdowns, Super Bowl appearances, super bowl wins, literally all of them are untouchable. Every time some new kid starts off hot people like to assume they have a chance like Russel Wilson or Patrick Mahomes but it literally will never be done. If you take the next 2 greatest post season QB’s in NFL history and combine their numbers they still come up short to Brady. It’s insane really

other NFL-ish records that might not fall: Deion Sanders is the only man to play in both a Super Bowl and a World Series, to hit an MLB home run and score an NFL touchdown in the same week, and to have both a reception and an interception in the Super Bowl. Bo Jackson is the only player in history to play in a Pro-Bowl & All-star game and he did them both in the same year. 2021-22 Postseason Update: As of Super Bowl LVI (SB56), Bill only needs 26 more wins to tie the record, and unless Mac Jones ends up being a one-year wonder, Bill will probably break it with 3 or 4 more seasons. I think Shula's record of 347 wins (regular season plus post season) could easily be broken by Bill Belichick if he coaches at least two more seasons. He already has 329 under his belt if you add his 298 regular season victories to his 31 playoff victories. Belichick could exceed Shula's regular season total of 328 if he coaches an additional 3-4 seasons. Despite the devaluation of the running game with the uptick of passing, I don't think the game has changed that much so that Eric Dickerson's single season record of 2105 yards is out of reach. Derrick Henry was reasonably close in a 16 game schedule in 2020 and Adrian Peterson was only eight yards short in 2012. In the near future schedules will be 17 or even 18 games.

Belichick actually is up to 306 wins, making him only 41 wins away. Shula's record is definitely getting broken. We all know that Bill says he doesn't care about records but I think we all know that he'll keep coaching until he gets that record. With this 2-3 start, I'm expecting that the Pats finish with a 9-7 or 10-6 record. That makes 34 wins to go maximum after this season is over. Unfortunately for anyone who hates the guy, he's going to have to die in order to not break the record.

@@jonahkolden6878 Yeah I'd like to see that. I sure as hell couldn't do it. I don't know who I'd take at centerfield and short stop. Way too many great players at those positions going all the way back 100 years ago. Then you could only pick 1 pitcher. That's difficult.

Another unbreakbale record: Bruce Smith, 200 career sacks. Closest active players now are Von Miller and JJ watt. They have 106 and 101. Both over 32 years old already. And they almost have to double what they have now to break 200. Today’s NFL rule protects the QB more and more. In my opinion. No one will break that record.

Jerry Rices records are absolutely amazing, especially considering how tbe rules to protect receivers were non existent then, and also QB's werent nearly as proteted either. An another note, they shoulda included Brett Favre's 336 career interceptions record on this video. That number is absolutely insane and will never be breached lol

Krause wasn't grabbing and pulling at receivers for the majority of his picks. He was a student of the game, understood his angles, what the offense was trying to do, and had deceptive closing speed to meet the ball, not the receiver. Only other guy on his level was Lane.

You're pronouncing record and recorded incorrectly. the verb is pronounced with a long E sound as in Reecord and Reecorded, it sounds really weird when you say it with the short e @3:29 you said "smith would record x number of yards..." and it sounds ridiculous with the short e sound used when you mean it in the verb form. The short E is used when you use record as a noun, such as in the sentence "He beat the record."
