I live in AZ and saw his act at ASU. Not only was he a menace on the field, but the school had to deal with three settlements..one for him punching and breaking a students jaw in a pickup game of basketball, one for punching a girl in a nightclub because she slapped him for grabbing her ass, another for injuring yet another student in a on campus fight. He was part of the Dennis Erickson crime wave and because of his reputation no NFL team would touch him except the bengals. Dude is said to be bi polar but doesn’t take his meds because they made him gain weight and become passive.

I would also include former Packer defensive end Charles Martin, for his after-the-play bodyslam of Bear quarterback Jim McMahon in 1986 onto his throwing shoulder, which put him out for the remainder of that season. People forget that the Spurs were posing the 2017 Warriors their first threat that entire playoffs - and were kicking their asses - when Zaza immediately put an end to it. I've always thought that if you injure another player on a dirty hit (one that draws a flag), that the fine assessed to the offending player should be paid, in cash, to the victim. Add a little humility to the penalty. And also, if the injured player misses any games, the offending player should miss the same number of games without pay.
@johnnyslokes27122 жыл бұрын
If thats the case, say if my 5th string WR catches a pass over the middle and gets wrecked, gets concussed by someone's starting linebacker then I'd just put that scrub on IR and now that team loses their starting linebacker for the year. Smaller injuries will become bigger injuries just because

You missed a few: Chuck Bednarick, who put Frank Gifford out for an entire season with one hit and who described with delight punching Jim Brown in pile ups to try to stop him; Night Train Lane, who invented the clothesline tackle for knocking opponents unconscious; Dick Butkus, who openly gloated over players he’d injured and of whom Mike Ditka was admittedly terrified; and Mean Joe Greene who, if he felt you were holding him, threw uppercuts like a boxer going to the body and who, as a rookie, spit in Dick Butkus’s face. Butkus backed down when Greene offered to fight him right on the field. Interestingly, they’re all in the NFL Football Hall of Fame. That’s the way football was played in their day.

@thecensoredmuscle5632 жыл бұрын
That's because Harrison started injuring guys from late hits. I like head hunter but it serves no purpose to head hunt a qb after already throwing the ball. Yeah, if it were up to me, I probably would have replaced him with either Charles Martin or Jonathan Vilma.

I was glad to see Rodney Harrison, but thought he should have higher on the list. I am also surprised not to see Chuck Cecil on the list.

I really don’t think Hines Ward was that dirty, honestly his hits are just part of football.
@penguinsfan2512 жыл бұрын
Hines Ward wasn't dirty. He was a throwback, a guy who could have played in any era. None of the videos shown here show Ward making a dirty play. He blocked hard...not dirty. The block on Elliott was not against the rules. Go and watch some NFL films from the 1950s and early 1960s. Then coming about James Harrison.

I wish he showed clips of what he was talking about at the time. “The greatest blocking wide receiver of all time” as he is jumping to catch a pass

In the early 90’s Hines played QB for Forest Park High School on the south side of Atlanta. We could all see his greatness then. Now he’s gonna be a HOFer. Unbelievable.

I’m a Steelers fan. Harrison was straight crazy and was roided up. So was Romo who was taking two different steroids at the same time. The Tatum hit on stingley by his own admission was unnecessary however he did go to the hospital after the game and the stingley family refused to let him in the room.
@nicholasfarrell59816 ай бұрын
As they should've done, to be honest. Tatum didn't deserve the opportunity to clear his conscience after that.

Two Steelers players on here and an offensive one at that, Crack back blocking still legal at the time ward broke his jaw, James Harrison also was not penalized on the field at the time due to the current rules at the time and was fined after the fact, That being said, hey it's just hard nosed football

Many did the Horse collar, Roy Williams just used it more because he was trailing in coverage, not because he was a dirty player.
