Not disagreeing per say, but there are a ton of people that reach this level in many professions. Whats admirable to me, and important to understand, is how and why he got there. I mean, your statement "Kobe really did change....blah blah blah.".. is truly absurd. That story was a little hard to believe just because the way its told seems made up on the spot. Just the way there happens to be a guy measuring the net after the game that he could ask about the net. Also depending on what kind of shot your trying 1/4 of an inch shouldn't even effect if it goes in or not. I doubt it's a true story but stories like that tend to happen when you reach such a legendary status.

I didn't cry, for a long time. One night though, I'm scrolling through Facebook and I see a story with Kobe and a sick kid. They asked him if he could give the kid an autographed jersey, he said "I can do better than that, I'll just show up there." Kobe gave them merchandise and took a picture with them. After that picture, the words just pop into my head, "Kobe's never going to smile again." That's when I finally lost it.

no BS I cried over it just this past week bc I had suddenly remembered that KOBE was gone. of all the celebrities & public figures I've ever watched/followed in my lifetime, I would NEVER have guessed that Kobe Bryant, the Mamba, the man who's inspired generations & amazed millions, would tragically pass at just age 41, let alone alongside his daughter & in a preventable accident. this man always appeared to me as the embodiment of sheer willpower, unparalleled discipline, a winning spirit, & the foresight to see his goals through. I also tear up when I remember how fondly he always spoke of his family in interviews & how wide his grin was with them. I likewise teared up watching clips of veteran NBA giants, usually as nonchalant as can be, openly weeping about the awful news. Kobe was such a national & even international culture icon for sports, that it feels INSANE to be discussing a man who had so much life left to live, in the past tense. he was beloved for a reason & had a hell of a mindset. RIP champ!! 🏆
