I so appreciate your posts. I have a 5 year old granddaughter who ran out of a restaurant with our large family seated around. Out of nowhere she bolted out the door and ran right into the street. We were all so relieved that even though it was in the center of our small city, no car was going by at that moment. I am learning something new with each of your posts, thank you so much.

Both my older brother and I escaped the house a lot when we were little except when I ran away I was usually heading for a playground and my running away stopped when I was quite young, I don’t know if my brother had a location a lot of the time but he would often run away even when he was a teenager. His autism is way more severe than mine.

Fantastic video and such helpful time and advise. Many years ago I had a friend who’s 4 year old had ADHD, he regularly escaped, he was able to get through most locks, even really high up ones that his family had put on the front door, he’d escape mostly at night, we tired all kinds of things but in the end my friend had to lock his bedroom door from the outside at night, she felt awful about it, it sounded so drastic, but I kept reassuring her she was doing the right thing. He had no sense of danger and they lived on a main road. She would have been so comforted by what you shared to know she wasn’t alone, however this little boy is now a young man and doing much better. I’m so glad you found Ezra and he was safe. Bless you.

Yep. I had to put an alarm on my autistic children's bedroom doors so we were woken up in the night. It felt terrible, but I needed them to be safe. We had to lock the fridge and cabinets too or they would eat everything planned for future meals! 😢

I AM A NEW FAN!! Glide lock has helped us so much with our daughter. Her first escape happened the first week of this summer and it was very similar to your sweet boy Ezra’s escape…involving great neighbors and super cops!! Gone 10 minutes and I was beside myself. It helps to have a team around you and I learned so much on how to prevent it or prepare for it going forward. Our kiddos are smart and I learn from my sweet Addison daily. Glide lock seemed very universal and helpful for my husband and I because we are able to access the lock on BOTH sides of the door. Thank you for this video because I have NOW taken on ur second tip and registered my daughter with our local police station. Keep being the inspiration we all need as parents and encouraging us to seek help and have comfort in knowing that we aren’t alone.

To me, I thought the truth is also used for empathy, and calm things down. I think telling the truth is sometimes I need to be honest, as attention. Not hurting anyone's feelings or else. I was never into political agendas. Since I'm apolitical and apathetic to fit into politics. I consider myself as a volunteer and cooperative person. I refuse to hate or lash out at any person, any being. That would be something I would be regretting in my life. I'm a snowflake, who is sensitive, emotional, and cannot argue against other peoples opinions. I am still a youngster in my heart and mindset to hate someone. The truth I believe, it was for ending this arguing, stop putting others be confused, scared, and bickering with one another. To make people look put their own differences aside. Cooperative, empathize, and be there for each other. Sometimes, I find telling the truth as no more argument, bickering with each other, and as a last defense to empathize, peace, and look out for each other. That's how I view telling the truth.

Yes. I can defend myself. I don't want to be pinned down to the ground. If I can challenge a thief, criminal, or stalker. I will try to defend if peaceful resolutions fail. I would try my best to fight back, and shoo them away. If I fail at challenging or defeat a stalker, I will do my best to hide away, making sure the stalker doesn't catch me off guard. If I got caught, I will do my best to run, run away fast as I can. Since I feel and behave like a kid. The mindset of a child and baby who views the world as childish escapism, rose tinted, shy, timid, curiosity, creativity, I complain a bit, sometimes a crybaby, I panic at times, have spatial awareness, and can't handle too much force and pressure.

If I got stalked. And failed to defeat or shoo away against a thief, robber, or stalker. By being pinned down to the ground. As in getting stomped down very slowly and very soft. I am sensitive to very soft attacks. I can handle hits like that. I do have bravery yet, I feel scared as well. In my child and babylike mindset.

It’s for insurance policies a legally if a child in the neighborhood gets hurt on a trampoline that doesn’t have a fence around it then the owners of the trampoline are responsible. A lot of people don’t realize that. But it has been a big issue.

@JonBrase
@JonBrase 8 ай бұрын
TBH, I'm not sure it's not a common behavior of human children in general, but non-verbal autistic children can't announce where they want to go, can't answer "where have you been, young man?", and it's harder to explain to them why they shouldn't just leave whenever they want (plus, if they're emotionally disregulated they may just bolt in panic).
