Perfect. I've conducted a NVC training this last weekend and I made people practice listening to the person next to her for 3 minutes without saying a word. It was a hard experience for everyone listening, probably because they've never listened 3 minutes straight haha. Some girls said they found it hard because they've started to connect with things in their lives (similar stories) and had an urge to share that they had gone through the same thing. A suggestion I give to you is to make a video on the topic "things that blocks empathic listening" (educating, telling a story, feeling sorry, competing for suffering, etc...) 1. Don't start speaking nonstop if you want to be heard. 2. Add a timeframe to the request to be listend or to listen. You may use a timer.

@@CupofEmpathy No thought about starting a KZbin channel, actually. Why do you say that? Yours is enough. Haha

Very helpful. I have taken two NVC classes and one of them was very useful. And the instructor has not offered it again. After that I took an NVC class with an instructor that constantly interrupted people and told them they were saying things wrong. I did not find that class very useful. however since I have found your channel I have started practicing again. Thank you.

Video Topic: NVC with partner who has a need for people getting to the point. I tend to use a lot of words because I fear being misunderstood.

Thanks for the suggestion! Quick tip: let him interrupt you and shortly summarize what he heard. Then you will know that he got it (or not!) and whether you need to use more words. And also dive deeper what is is about the fear of being misunderstood. Maybe you were misunderstood earlier in life, and would like healing around that. Would love to help you further in my course if you like!
