😂really enjoyed this, considering I just got my new 400cc yesterday; my highest class ride. Can only imagine the thrill Emilio went through. A ride that usually takes 20 mins took me 1hr 30 min to get back home. No driver honked at me, so I guess I did good😅 Only mistake I did was forgetting to turn off my blinker on my last turn home, but we learn with time💪🏾🔥

Good Vid, 20 years ago I started in a Gixer 1 Thou.. and it scared the crap out of me, almost quit ridding, but my Bike mentor at the time told me to switch to a Honda 300R for like 6 months, and after 6 months..(riding daily) I switched back to the Gixer 1K and was Ridding like Street Rossi..Knee down..taking agresive lines, fully aware of my capabilities. Technically speaking u could start in a liter Bike, but learning the fundamentals in a smaller bike makes a huuuuge difference.

I remember going through that on my 1st high powered bike. 1st gear is very twitchy! So when a newbie I liked to make a quick switch from 1st to 2nd. 1st to just get moving but 2nd gave me a more confident feeling of control. Never tried a Triumph 1000 but my Tracer 900 was very High strung in 1st gear so liked to get 2nd quick. I feel the learning curve. I challenged myself in the beginning but now confident on any Bike. GR8 Start Amilio. Surely spelled that name wrong but My heart is Solid....

This video 💯 I can resonate with. I’m a new rider. Bought me a HD Nightster on Memorial Day. Rode it in my neighborhood a few times, parking lot and then one night decided to ride my bike at 1 am in the morning. So I can practice my shifting . Then I got sick and couldn’t get seat time for a few weeks. But then just this past Tuesday I rode my bike to work. And It takes me about 45-50 mns to get to work. And have to take 4 different highways. Have not been on the streets. But decided to ride to work on the highways for the very first time. 🤦♀️ sooooo many emotions when I made it safely to work. I definitely stalled quite a bit at the lights. I was so nervous. When I made it to the Parking lot of my work I was so relieved that my mind went blank. Forgot about the clutch ended up dumping it and dropped my bike in my parking spot. Lol idgaf … but damn super hyper and proud of myself that I got on all 4 highways. I pretty much said, FULL SEND !! I made it home safely. So how you were with your friend was how my co worker was with me. He also rode to work. And rode with me back home to make sure I made it safely. This video warms my heart. I hope you continue to show your friends progress. Because new riders like myself, its inspiring, motivating and encouraging!!!

I doubt I’ll ever use bar end mirrors, and that was not a good choice for someone learning to control 1000ccs. I prefer to have the outside of my palm/ pinky/ ring finger gripped around the bar end for stability and safety. From there, use the inside of my palm for throttle and index/ middle finger for front brake/ clutch. Bar end mirrors would change the way I ride.

Hey fwiw here’s a video suggestion. I’ve always bought very new or slightly used bikes, mostly because people always talk about how insanely good bikes have gotten recently. So when it comes to buying an older bike. Is there things you can do cheaply to make it safer and handle better etc ? I guess I’m really just asking what is like going from a new bike to an older used bike, do you feel like you need to upgrade Brakes etc. or anything? Does anything feel majorly different or not so much. I get technically 2000-2010 isn’t that old technically but I wasn’t riding then so I don’t really know
@AChubbyWombat Жыл бұрын
With anything older, it's important to have a competent mechanic check the main safety related things (at a minimum). So that's brakes, suspension, tyres, steering play. Then you can start worrying about reliability, the engine etc.
@Fee.1 Жыл бұрын
@@AChubbyWombat but is it safe to assume even when working at their best the brakes for example are inferior to todays ? If so what are the modernization upgrades one should do to upgrade stopping power ? More aggressive pass? Entire new brake assembly ?
@AChubbyWombat Жыл бұрын
@@Fee.1 Depends which bikes you are comparing. Generally speaking, newer bikes have better safety systems. I ride a flagship bike from 2003, but the brakes were rebuilt just 5 months ago. It stops better than my old entry-level bike from 2013 ever did. If you're playing it safe, try to get something with ABS. And if it's high-powered and you know you're going to ride hard, try to get something with traction control.

The second someone asks me what a kill switch is for my spidey senses are through the roof, but there are multiple makes/designs etc so that’s not an automatic “you can’t ride my bike anymore sorry ” necessarily, not just yet at least. But the moment they ask me when you’re supposed to use the kill switch…nah get off my bike and go get on your grom or my grom etc and show me you can actually ride😂 Then again it sounds like that speed triple is somehow only with about what the grill is worth so…i guess go ahead 😂 Edit: I thought he was saying he knew how to ride already. Didn’t realize you were teaching him at first.
