In Oklahoma we call that jugging and use bleach jugs not pool noodles . Noodling is done bare hands in rock crevices .

As a residence of Oklahoma, please allow me to correct you... Noodling is using either the bare hand or gloved hand to reach into holes along the bank of a river or lake, hoping a catfish will bite on your hand. You then grab the inside of the catfish and pull him out of the water. You are "fishing" with noodles. Not Noodling.
