He wasted a lot of time on Yammy and Ulquiorra, he wasted a lot of time on Aizen (and lost), he wasted a lot of time with Askin (and still needed Grimmjow's help). He also failed to stop Aizen 110 years ago with vizards and had to run away. He literally starts that whole encounter by starting to yap with Aizen and because of that letting Aizen get away. So what? He could MAYBE make the hogyoku(his hogyoku on its own wasn't working, for the complete hogyoku aizen had to merge urahara's with his own) but he definitely cannot merge with it(awakening it required a monstrous reiatsu, urahara's is nowhere near Aizen's). His best hope is to give it to a soul king candidate and manipulate him...he cannot turn ichigo against SS and he cannot make another Hikone because there are not enough soul king pieces around. Urahara's only hope is allying with Ginjo and somehow controlling him behind the scenes.

Urahara with prep time and having merged with the Hogyoku is basically unstoppable. His bankai would be fused with him, and permanently on due to his limitless energy. Combine that with an immortal body, and the only character who might beat him is Ichibei, who MAY be able to use concept erasure to turn the tide of that fight. Also, without himself to develop a seal against a Hogyoku-empowered threat, nobody is sealing him.

The only way to deal with him is a single lethal strike when he least expects it, because if he survives, the oponent is done for. I believe Gin said it best when he stated the reason the espada follow aizen is not because of kyoka suigetsu, but instead because of his power. This isn't Naruto, where being the smartest guy in the room automatically nets you a victory, you have to have a ridiculous amount of power, especially to do something as crazy as taking on the captains of the gotei 13. Simply put, biases aside, the answer is no, Urahara is simply not powerful enough to pull off something like that, to be honest he wouldn't even get close. Aizen, who is far more powerful than Urahara, had kyoka which is not something that can be replicated and played a vital role in his growth of power. Aizen was also able to complete the hogyoku by merging his with Uraharas. The Hogyoku is said to manifest the will of the person who wields it, if that goal is actually obtainable. That was what made the Hogyoku so powerful in the hands of aizen. He was not only smart, but he had the sheer reiatsu to back up his goals, and the hogyoku simply manifested that. Urahara does not have that, even aizen sitting in a chair is stronger than Urahara and everyone else in the series aside from juha and Ichigo. Urahara is certainly strong, but to be honest he's just upper captain level at best, he's not a different breed like aizen or Ichigo, he's just insanely intelligent. Off topic, but for reference, Mayuri the scientist lost to baby Uryu at the beginning of the series. Even though he was vastly superior to Uryu, he lost simply because Uryu used a more powerful attack. Aiden said a battle between soul reapers is a battle of reiatsu, and as such, he was able to negate soi fons ability simply with his reiatsu. I say all of that to say this: the reason aizen was able to do what he did, was because he was far more powerful than everyone else at that time, and with his completed hogyoku manifesting his will, he was allowed to transcend and become much more powerful. Urahara is simply not that strong, he has a hax bankai which is great, and he can put together a lot of different nick nacks that can be very beneficial. Note that Urahara shines the most by making things for powerful individuals and allowing them to utilize the items to their utmost use case. I think Urahara with the aid of Yoruichi and all of the espada (given special tools by urahara to make themselves more powerful), could pose a serious threat to the captains. But if we're talking about tybw arc then no, too many strong captains and too much hax. I should put Urahara at Shinsui's level, strong captain with a hax bankai. I think a lot of people misunderstand with makes urahara so useful, he's the most powerful support character in the series, he's more powerful behind the scenes making devices for other people than being on the front lines. But even with that being said, I do think that he's still at Head Captain Shinsui level. But when we start talking about heavy hitters like Ichigo, aizen, juha, Yamamoto etc, those are different breeds physically and Urahara shouldn't be considered with them (whom all could solo the captains).

If Aizen could take down the SS all by himself he would have. No Hogyoku mean he will gas out and no espada mean Byakuya, Kenpachi, Mayuri and Unohana will join the party. More importantly, Wonderweiss will not be here to nerf Yamamoto, which mean bye bye for Aizen Even if Tosen and Gin help him, i dont think the 3 of them are enough. Shinigami Tosen is weak and Gin, while being very strong, is imo not strong enough to give the win to Aizen (and he will turn against him if he find an opening anyway)

He can inflict quite the wrath on his own but to take over? He may need some backup. Ironically he alluded to this evilness in CFYOW, practically begging Yoruichi to see that he's stopped should he ever become a villain. She stated that she'd twist his neck the moment he crosses the line. It makes sense since both were once killers for the status quo and one friend would not allow the other become the very threat they and others nearly died to stop or did so outright. Kisuke knows his limitations while Aizen and others simply could not stop.

Byakuya got a substantive power-up after his Royal Guard training though. Such that his Shikai was mistaken for his Bankai by As Nodt, who was certainly in a position to know the difference. Is that enough to beat Urahara? I don't know, we're sort of in the world of Batman with pre-time arguments... but I put his chances of victory around Kenpachi's.

If we’re talking about him running a Gauntlet then he’s getting stopped by Kenpachi. With prep time he’d definitely get further and would likely clear the SS or stop at Shunsui I could see that fight going Ext diff. But if he clears the SS then he’d have to deal with Squad 0 next. And he’s getting stomped by Squad 0 no questions asked even with prep time.

Btw, the play we see in Kyouraku Shunsui's bankai is only one of many he has access to according to Tite Kubo, as stated in the regularly held Q&A, Klub Outside. Another thing noted in Klub Outside is that Sajin Komamura's immortal human form does not function on a time limit. Rather, he transformed into a beast at that time because his thoughts became selfish and vengeful. He accepted a curse, wherein if he has even a single selfish, vindictive, vengeful, or self gratifying thought, he'll succumb to the beastly nature within and be unable to do anything at all.

There's a lot more subtle story telling when it comes to the relationship with him and the nobles for example though he is third sit and only a lieutenant compared to the likes of Yoruichi, Kukaku, and Tessai all of which are his childhood friends which implies a lot of hidden things already you can tell that among the four he is the leader and the person all 3 of them look up to, which is interesting it should be noted that Yoruichi basically recommending him to be captain is rather odd on her part she should have no reason to do this since Urahara actually manages most of her unit and you can tell with him around tasks were far more easier allowing her more room to do whatever she wanted. Then there's Tessai THE Kido captain a position that's as secretive as zero squad goes to show Tessai himself isn't just some ordinary guy who has talent as most Secret groups in Seritei are usually under the control of a noble house or a person given authority by a noble and by central 46 to operate. Though it maybe filler Kisuke did say he was good friends and around the same age as Kukaku and used to play around presumably in Yoruichi's house so there's that. All I'm saying is we want to know about Aizen's past but Kisuke's past is just if not more mysterious than Aizen's. Mind you he already knew full well what "Hollowfication" was even though Aizen was still testing it out.

Same to prepare to any scenario or come up with counters to eventual fights, because if Aizen created Wonderweiss to face Yamamoto and the Vandenreich the medallions to steal bankai, surely Kisuke can think of something, play dirty is allowed. If speaking of engaging them in single battles, 1vs1, more or less I agree with your analysis. Urahara is not at levels of monsters like Ichigo as for reiatsu, but Aizen complimented and compared himself to him, plus all his feats show that Kisuke is insanely strong anyway, over than a master in all shinigami arts, leave aside his tricks. I only disagree about Hitsugaya, like he's now Toshiro needs time to get access to his adult form, time he won't get, he isn't bad but as kid he can't keep up with Urahara, who over of brain, surpasses him in speed, zanjutsu, adaptability, and can cast broken kido spells. An hard time against Zaraki and Mayuri, the first as insane battle monster, the second as a mad scientist like him, open debate about the result, while I see Urahara and Kyoraku pretty close in terms of level, also both very tricky, the point is the difference in hax, Kisuke must find a chance before he goes into bankai, as that's basically endgame for any non-godly being. Yamamoto is the sun, let him alone.

My guy, Kenny's shikai does have an effect. That effect is, quite simply, "cuts through anything." And I mean anything. Meteors, hierro, blut vene, zanpakto, SPACE ITSELF. Need I remind you, space isn't even something, it's the total lack of something, and he STILL cut it. He cut through NOTHINGNESS. If he attacks Benihime, then it'll wind up looking like Konjiki Ashisogi Jizou at the end of its first appearance. It's game over.

Honestly, I think Urahara would have at least as much of a chance at beating Zero Division as Aizen. He replaced one of them as captain of Squad 12, and would have known about her abilities. He is something of a successor to Senjumaru too, and both knew of Mayuri, so there's a connection there. He probably knew what she was capable of too. He was close with Yoruichi, so if she was in on it, he would have the sort of knowledge only the 5 great noble families have about the SK, Palace, etc. On top of that, well... it's Urahara. If he prepared like Aizen did, it's not going to end well for Soul Society, especially when he was a close ally of Ichigo and would know a lot about the guy who would end up as their last hope to beat him. Then there's his ridiculous bankai and the likely scenario where he would use the hogyoku. Overall, I think he's actually in a better position to achieve the goal than Aizen, who kinda only got there because he was able to outright overpower all of the Gotei 13 besides Yamamoto (and Unohana/Zaraki perhaps if they had been there during the "Aizen vs everyone" fight)

Kisuke against toshiro isnt close imo. Yes, toshiros potential is almost limitless but he is way too hotheaded to win against kisuke. Ironically he loses his cool so quick that this gives urahara so many options to outsmart him just by provoking him. In my opinion the only 2/3 (if we are to assume that in this timeline aizens and kisukes roles are reversed) captains that could match urahara are yama, shunsui and aizen. But since in this timeline urahara would probably merge with the hogyoku, he should be able to clear even those 3.

Personally, I think Kisuke would beat Kyoraku even in shikai. Kyoraku's shikai has a lot of negative side if the opponent know the rules and I think Kisuke is smart enough to outcomes all these rules. Besides, Kisuke is more proficient in Kidô that surely help in different situations. FInally, Kyoraku's Bankai wouldn't work until the opponent attacks.

You got shunsui Color game backwards The less amount of a Color on the target the more damage it does More means less damage it’s why stark was killed by shunsui using black It also is risk and reward it’s harder to hit the lesser Color but does more damage
