This is one of the most re-made Western storylines. I have seen at least four versions of this exact same story, and most of them were B Westerns. Surprisingly even though this was a low budget version, it was enjoyable. Maybe because it had some pretty good actors with Jim Davis, Barton Maclane, and Harry Carey Jr. Even the older weasel council member and a couple of the men who agreed to be deputized were old troopers who played in a lot of Westerns in their younger days. Thanks, I always enjoy finding any Western that I haven't already seen. I'm a huge Western fan and it is very difficult for me to find one I haven't already seen. I've watched most Westerns at least 3 or 4 times, minimum.

Exact same as the Sterling Hayden Movie - I forgotten the name of the other movie, but for those interested in trivia, but it’s the EXACT same story with the EXACT same dialogue. In fact, even the scene where they are fighting off Cantrell as he comes into town, the rifleman who is up,in the tower… when he gets killed … it is literally the SAME PIECE OF FILM borrowed from that other older Sterling Hayden movie. I mean really, it’s literally the same piece of film when that guy gets killed. Before the days of videotape you just wouldn’t remember because this film I think it’s about 6-10 years after the Sterling Hayden Movie. So by then they figured the movie goers would not remember. It’s a little bit like John Wayne’s Rio Bravo versus El Dorado. In that case those two movies were essentially the same story but they did have different dialogue even though they did use the exact same jail set. Jim Davis did a nice job and Harry Carey Junior is always great. These movies were so great compared to what’s out today. They didn’t have the special effects so they had to rely on the writing and the acting. My admiration always goes to real actors Pretty soon movies will be made and acted with artificial intelligence. Who wants to see that? Not me. LOL Enjoy these old sticks. They’re really great

this is a real woman 👍(in bad situation and good), he would definitely be dead, is she didn't shoot the bandit, unless he was a rambo cowboy. How he tricks the rest of the bandits in the saloon, against other two, was amazing. Excellent movie, one of the best, great story too

Jim Davis played Good Guy at times ...Bad Guy in others, either way i liked him in both..Bonehead move of the other Marshall confronting the whole gang outside city limits..was he expecting they surrender or change their plans?..Gee wheeze
