My theory was that the movie was actually only going to be like 10 minutes. It would do all the normal setup of a film's cast, and then when the bad shit started happening, the cast would collectively just say "Nope!", turn and leave, roll credits. Just a complete fakeout to the movie going public that they were getting a full length film.

@@josephibarra2865 in terms of horror? Yea 100%. “Get Out” was a FANTASTIC story but it didn’t really scare me. “Us” was scarier, but not the most compelling story for me. This was pure horror for me. But then again, I may be biased as I’ve seen a LOT of horror movies and the only stuff that really gets me now is inhuman horror (ghosts, aliens, monsters, witches, demons n such). The unknown is unsettling to no bound. People can be evil, but they aren’t very scary since were so familiar

i love Jordan Peele, and I'm very picky about my sci fi/alien content. i've never cared for westerns. I knew I'd love NOPE but i thought that this was just so well done. The alien real and possible and yet completely elderitch and lovecraftian and incomprehensible. the fact his goal is to make it as real as possible shows, and i think he accomplishes it every time. his movies are some of the only ones that terrify me anymore. also i love these characters the most out of all his films. I felt like i related to every one of them in one way or another. And Daniel did amazing as OJ. I feel like Ive literally met someone like OJ. How he handled it was hilarious, realistic, and incredible.

I agree. Almost everything about the creature threw me for a loop, as much as the movie explained the way it would behave, other things still leave me wondering what the hell it is and why it does what it does- like the rain of blood, why over the house, was it a warning to the people inside, was it just dumping its waste away from its feeding territory, etc. I got major biblically accurate angel vibes from its unfurled form too, the SIZE of that thing man

I love how this movie starts like "CLOSE ENCOUNTERS" but turns into "JAWS". Plus, it has a lot of layers and tons of fun adventure elements and homages. All of Peele's films are awesome but "NOPE" is the one that's the most fun to watch and probably ends on the most upbeat, hopeful tone. It's like a love letter to all the great blockbusters, especially the works of Spielberg, old time westerns and classic Hollywood films in general (while still calling out the dark side of the Hollywood industry).

These rapidfire style interviews are always so boring and repetitive. Thank you for providing him with interesting questions of substance. Can't wait to watch this on Saturday.

Somehow I feel like Jordan Peel is still playing a skit character from Key and Peele. I still laugh whenever I see him speak even as a film director.

He went from being a weird skit guy. To a renowned director. Insane.
