My theory was that the movie was actually only going to be like 10 minutes. It would do all the normal setup of a film's cast, and then when the bad shit started happening, the cast would collectively just say "Nope!", turn and leave, roll credits. Just a complete fakeout to the movie going public that they were getting a full length film.

i love Jordan Peele, and I'm very picky about my sci fi/alien content. i've never cared for westerns. I knew I'd love NOPE but i thought that this was just so well done. The alien real and possible and yet completely elderitch and lovecraftian and incomprehensible. the fact his goal is to make it as real as possible shows, and i think he accomplishes it every time. his movies are some of the only ones that terrify me anymore. also i love these characters the most out of all his films. I felt like i related to every one of them in one way or another. And Daniel did amazing as OJ. I feel like Ive literally met someone like OJ. How he handled it was hilarious, realistic, and incredible.

I agree. Almost everything about the creature threw me for a loop, as much as the movie explained the way it would behave, other things still leave me wondering what the hell it is and why it does what it does- like the rain of blood, why over the house, was it a warning to the people inside, was it just dumping its waste away from its feeding territory, etc. I got major biblically accurate angel vibes from its unfurled form too, the SIZE of that thing man
