The best method is to use infrared and UV leds to wash out the image constantly. You need to make the leds strobe. Cameras pick up infrared and UV because those wavelengths pick up on the red and blue ccd sensors weakly. So it is possible to have a blinding light on constantly that blocks cameras that humans cant see. Making it strobe will scramble the image which sometimes makes it difficult to make out the car at a distance (like a crt or a flourescent light on a video camera).

this has no effect in most of the USA, they use 3 cameras, 1 records video with no flash, 1 takes a pic with flash and the other takes a pic with no flash, then the image is enhanced and they adjust brightness until the whole plate is legible then you get hit with a fine for having a photo blocker plus running a red-light, we did this 3 times on 3 different intersections using 1 car, 1 truck and 1 van and failed each time. I worked for a company that preformed various tests on products we sold. (Basically it was a autoparts store that specialized in the aftermarket. The only photoblocker that kinda works one MOST OCCASIONS is having a tinted bubble cover over your plates and not having any license plate lights in pitch black this worked 4/5 times but again not every time. Dont waste $400 just to get a $50 ticket and a few 1,000 fine.

Thank you for sharing your results! What company are you with and what part of the country did you test in? I've tested it here in WA State and have found it is effective in practice. If you have some detailed info, it'd be helpful to send it to noPhoto so they can update as needed. It had some issues here with the first gen version and then changed things for the second gen based on further testing and now it works properly.
@randomuser-n8i8 жыл бұрын
Vortex Radar I worked with East Coast Customs in New York. The main issue we had is the flash didnt really do much to block the image as new york sends all of its photo tickets to a 3rd party company that enhances the photo in almost any case. The way we were able to counter them somewhat effectively was using a tinted bubble type cover and not having any license plate lights. However in most states like NY u cant pass the annual inspection with no license plate lights and the covers are highly illegal. Im not against these products it just seems nothing we have tested has really worked fool proof. Thanks for the response!
@VortexRadar8 жыл бұрын
Yeah I hear you. I know two people so far who've gotten tickets using this product. It seems to be effective in some cases, but not every case. The same applies with radar detectors and most other tools like you've seen. I wish it was totally bulletproof and that'd be awesome, but no product is perfect unfortunately. That said, it sounds like you have some really great info and if you shared that info with noPhoto, that could help them improve the product for everyone's sake. :)

Yea unfortunately this video is old and our prison guards have adapted. Most setups take several pictures in rapid succession and if a tag can't be determined from these then it is flagged for human eyes and I'm sure for something like toll booths they can reference video. Which is where they either get an image of your car and probably visual proof that your purposely evading. It's our fault. @VortexRadar8 жыл бұрын
+Jonathan Goodpasture Yeah I get that. There's a few other competing products and even some super cheapy ones on eBay. I've tested some of the other ones. The cheapest ones are missing fuses and have safety issues. The better ones are lacking filters and will cause false alerts, triggering to things like headlights, lidar guns, the sun flickering through trees, construction worker lights along the road, and so on. A light trigger and flash isn't a big deal, but the filtering is a big part of it too. I'm not sure $400 is totally worth it either, but the discussion on RDF of what they did to create this is pretty interesting. :)

Couple of questions. Are IR cameras in use in the US? If so, these would be ineffective against them, would they not? I know some guys in the UK have been experimenting with IR (constant on) LED above the frame to attack that problem. Not sure if IR is used in the US though. Wouldn't you need a combination of both technologies to be safe. Third, many of the red light cameras use video combined with still shots. How will a flash defeat video? They can just use another frame from the video.
@VortexRadar8 жыл бұрын
IR cameras are in use and this thing should trigger to and affect IR cameras as well. Constant on flashes it won't trigger to though. As for video, tickets are never written from video. You have high res photos where you can see the plate and low res videos to show the event. You can't see plates from the videos. So it's designed to work against photos and stop ticketing cameras that use both photos and videos.

Plus, just like in many places, there's no law that stating your license plate must be photogenic. Also, in the daytime, the speed traps do not use their flash, so now you're limited to being useful only at night.

When I cruise through ticket lights, I just quickly pull the sun visor down and get your face up high. If they dont have the face of the driver, a ticket will never be sent. Also, if they do get your face, and you challenge the ticket in court, the officer that reviews the photos will be there. He will ask each person there to challenge if that is them in the photo. So, the whole idea is to use your sunshade. Do not let them get your face. Cheaper than these illegal gadgets too. Which are a $1,000 fine in CA.

Have you checked noPhoto's website and read their ticket-free guarantee? www.nophoto.com/pages/ticket-free-guarantee P.S. I'm not noPhoto. ;)

Hi Vertex Radar. My friend got a ticket and it not just camera photo capture. It is a full video on 3 angle showing that the driver is actually drive over the red light. Do you think noPhoto 2.0 can handle it? Also noPhoto cost $399. How about noPhoto2.0
@VortexRadar8 жыл бұрын
+Michael Chak Yeah it should. Video is part of it, but the tickets are only issued from the still photos. This one is the noPhoto 2.0. Maybe the names are confusing but the original noPhoto was called the noPhoto Pro. The second generation is called just the noPhoto.

However, assuming the no photo does stop the still photo the person viewing the ticket could then go to the video if the still picture is unreadable. Could this be true?

just pull a trailer all the time to avoid this.. or maybe a scooter carrier system for back of car.

I was in the neighbouring province with my jeep wrangler and at the time i was on a road trip and had stock tires on it(as well as the spare) and was doing 4kmh over the speed limit and got a ticket, look at the pictures a month later when I receive the ticket and If I would of had my wider aftermarket tires and rims on it would of blocked 2 characters and I probably wouldn't of gotten the ticket....wishing I had those tires on or did something similar to what you suggested like a scooter carrier or dirt bike carrier or even a bicycle carrier.

Full Throttle, Downside to a bumper carrier or similar which partially blocks your license is that 100% of your drive time you risk being ticketed for an illegible plate. Still, must be some method .....
@Honeypot-x9s4 жыл бұрын
@@CA2APat late comment. some states are really bad about trailer attachments need a separate plate even tiny trailer for coolers...however i would say 90% of the time u can get away wth smaller trailers and stacking shit on it right in the way of centered plate.. police would have to prove that your intentions were to explicitly hide the plate to rightfully ticket you.. i have a small one on back of my volvo wagon, sometimes when im going places ill use the small trailer attachment and stack something like part worn tires on it and tie them down right in way of my rear plate (my state only does rear plates) . i never had issues apart from 1 time but they cut me loose told me next time i go on a trip to mke sure i get a proper trailer and plate on it, been several years, passed many cops and never had issues.. the reason i do it is i have wrongly been ticketed several times in my life for red light violations.. 1x few years ago not far from hme here i got a ticket for going on green, however because way systems here were made couldn't prove if light was red or green, long story short had to pay and happened enough pissed someone off, cuz they shot it out. another time i was visiting a buddy, parked street side in front of his apartment, and he told me to move my ca cuz red light camera, within the 5 minutes of me being up there and running back down and moving the car, i incurred 2 tickets! i couldn't even truly appeal them the local magistrate wasn't interested.

All camera in europe using infrared, not flash in 2016. What about that?
I haven't seen any cars "flashed" with photo radar in the daytime recently. Either in day circumstances flash isn't required (I know it wouldn't be in a lot of cases with a wide aperture lens), or people just aren't getting busted here - don't know which). Either way, I could see daytime circumstances not needing flash if the photo radar units use good camera/lens combos, but necessary at night. This unit basically acts like a a slave flash unit - smart - but if flash isn't necessary for photo radar, it won't work. I do like the concept though.

Not all vehicles have license plate fasteners at the bottom area of the plate. There needs to be a bracket made to attach this at the top of the plate area. I already use an anti camera plate cover that blurs out the plate at an angle. You must be directly behind to see the plate.

go run a red light in real time for real to clearly show the noPhoto working from a speed camera /red light camera flash. alot of these things don't work with modern speed cameras & red light cameras. i have yet to see a real test done .

Problem is if their cameras start using infra red or ultra violet filters then your plate could get read, so can you try your camera on with these filters. I want to use these to blank my ID so that I don't have to pay stupid low emission zone charge whilst China and India are spewing out tons of carbon dioxide.

Get a plastic LP frame and hack it/add bright IR LED's... then wire it up to the ignition/or a switch so the IR LED's will be on/active when driving! Wouldn't be all that hard to do and would cost a fraction of the $400 they're asking for the noPhoto...

Elvir Haskovic You can't zoom in on what isn't photographed. A photo is of everything visible. You can't zoom in something obscured by a wall in a photo. I am suspicious of anyone discouraging in this forum. The cops and DMV don't want to lose any money to this kind of thing. The fact is, if your plate is totally obscured, you don't get to ticket the driver via photo ticket.
