Hi Raje Nantheson. Thanks for the heads up. I'm sorry about the confusion. It is a left over description from the previous recipe write up. As you can see from the video, no chilies are required 😁. Thanks again 😊

Hi there. The main ingredients in Hainanese Kaya is eggs, coconut cream and sugar. Without any one of these ingredients, the Kaya will be quite lacking in flavors. I am sorry but I could not identify any possible substitution for the eggs in this recipe 😔
