My appreciation for the country is precisely what is sorely lacking in the US: genuine emphasis on the love for and wellbeing of the family, around which everything revolves. The food, the music, the laughter, the pride in the country people have, and the sense of living in the moment and truly enjoying life is what makes the people and the culture a treasure. There's a bit of European influence, too. I'm American and married a Dominicana. We have a great family; we live in the US and a small home in RD.

Seen them all when traveling and even more types you didn't mention. I usually avoid areas where fellow travelers and expats congregate. When I traveled there last May I started off in Santo Domingo and drove to Santiago, then Nagua beach area ( passed through La Vega) ,then returned to Santo Domingo. Then I headed by car to Punta Cana before returning back to Santo Domingo. Actually it was a nice peaceful drive. Took a little while to get familiar on how to get around, as it is when you first travel to new country. But it was a nice experience. Even got stopped by a cop lol coming from Punta Cana. Just gave him $20 and went about my business. The new experience is the reason to travel and that is the enjoyment I get ( oh and I don't speak spanish and still got around well). Some who are nothing in their own country get on a ego trip and think they are the stuff when they go elsewhere.

Your points are absolutely valid. Why would anyone want to go to a country if they are going to do nothing but complain and be offended by the people that live there. You have national pride about your country which is good and everyone should have it for their homeland now those points that you mentioned multiply that millions of times and this is the problem we have in the United States at the time people came here to work hard, raise their family, and be patriotic for the country. Now we have some people that come they want to live off of the system get things for free, not want to work and have the citizens support them all while bad mouthing the people that are supporting them I use the same reasoning as you do “either love the country that you live in or live in the country that you love.” BTW I never heard you curse before ….this subject gets you 😡

People will bring their own speakers/ boom boxes and play them as loud as they will go. I think this is rude and not considerate of the other people around them. With that being said I have learned to live with it. It is one of the things if you live in a foreign country you tolerate. We always have options. We can go back to our countries, the US for me. There is no problem using the ATM here. Of course the ATM charges a fee just like anywhere else. It's a set fee no matter whether it's a local or international debit card. You will need to check with your own bank to see if they charge you to use it international.

@@dovygoodguy1296 I thinks it's less than a $3 fee. And how much you can withdraw differs by bank.

It works the same as in the States. If you withdraw money from the ATM and it's not your bank they charge you a fee. Also, same as the States you are given a limit as to how much you can take from the ATM. You can't avoid this in the US and it works the same way here. The only difference is some limits may vary depending on the bank you're withdrawing money. Popular Bank in experience gives the highest withdrawal $20,000 pesos which is about $365 USD and you can do this 3 times per day. Also, this bank also allows you to withdraw USD from the ATM.

Expats, drop the entitlement and get some empathy. You are in a new country and it's a humbling experience to know nothing. I saw something back then that you did not see in America and sometimes still don’t. But lust has tarnished and big crime has been brought in by the western world. A book can be written from my 40 years of coming and living here. You see what the western world is doing to your country. I like Dominion Republic as a country and to be able to enter twine with people of my color. I have also lived in other Asian countries that I can speak about. You do not have to have a degree to speak about what your eyes have witnessed over the years. Again thank you again for answering my comment. Charlie Washington

i agree with what you say but if your are too nice with the dominicans they take advantage of you so you have to be aware its still a beautifull country you must like the country if you want to go there or live there
@NorberisR Жыл бұрын
If you noticed I did mention to still use common sense when traveling around the country. Also, you are generalizing all Dominicans to say we take advantage of you're nice. Sounds like you need to pick better friends. Because of us are not like that. So please before you group us all into your experience be clear that it's the one you picked to be around.

I'm a foreigner racist against other foreigners 😂😂😂😂 That's why I moved away from Gazcue. I want to live like KAREN FREE! 😂 I have met all of these foreigners since I have lived here and they think they know more than people who have been here years. I just stay away from them. And when they think I'm american I start speaking spanish and they walk away 😂

There's always unfortunately those types of Americans that go elsewhere and prove they don't belong in society. I can't wait until I take my trip in a month or two to visit there. I'm sure it'll be amazing...

Wow Nor, you explained everything so well in this video that it genuinely pissed me off how people go visit D.R & act like they own the place & that they don't like black people & their dialect. Like wtf?? lol Go to Switzerland & stay the f away from D.R then.

When I travel to the R.D. with new people. I always make sure that they stay respectful around me. For the most important part. SAFETY!!! In 11 years of travel. Only one person can never travel with me again. I put him out of our villa and gave him his money back.

💯Truthfully I don't roll with anyone I haven't met and established a relationship with as I almost learned the hard way. I'm not going to jail down there because of someone's stupidity and I'm not bailing anyone out either. I'll chop it up with anyone and have a beer with but as for sharing a villa with, no way. Too much can go wrong in that situation.

Dominican Republic Needs a NBA Team and NFL team It would be a nice investment for the country The basketball Association can switch the season around for the summer time so more tourist can come to the Dominican Republic and it creat jobs for the country The NBA is Expanding they need to consider your country Plus things in the U.S. is sky rocketing It would be wonderful to take a vacation and watch a basketball and football game in the Dominican Republic The Caribbean Islands need love 💕 too Can you take a survey and do a video why the NBA and NFL should invest in the Caribbean Islands thank you

You should not complain about those expats unless you havent seen our migrants here in Europe. At least these people bring money, dont use violence and go away quickly again.
@NorberisR Жыл бұрын
Please don't tell me what I should and shouldn't do. I don't need to know anything about Europe for me to comment on how people behave in my country. I don't care what's happening there it's not my business. Besides this is my channel I can speak about whatever I want.

I'm a black man and have been coming here about 15 years, but next door to my apartment my white European neighbors will not even say "hello" even though I speak to them each time I pass them. They continue to frown at me everywhere I see them.

@@NorberisR I love your videos and the energy you bring. Your beautiful ladies and the island energy is what keeps me coming back. You would think in such a wonderful environment that all the old racist, entitled and unfriendly ways would be left back where they came from; but I'm cool with them never speaking to me, I just go hang out with my Dominican brothers at the barbershop.
