The whole *made in China* thing scares the shit out of me. Is an accountable and uncorruptable Expat there supervising the build from start to end? I'm an Oilfield guy and we typically will NOT use any Chinese made gear in the field that could cause injuries or cost lives if it fails, hence my wariness..

And yet, somehow, Nordhavn and plenty of other boatbuilders produce spectacular and reliable boats. And they have been doing so, in spite of China's numerous deficiencies in other fields, for decades.

@@GoodkatNW I can only assume there's strict and diligent supervision from Expats permanently based there in the building process, if you can name literally one product that China produce which isn't poorly copied Western technology I'd be impressed. They can't build a fucking bicycle that won't fall apart in a week but they're building ocean going Yachts you can trust your families life to if you get caught in a storm 1000 miles from the nearest shoreline?

@@fd6sp They're built in Xiamen and Shanghai, depending on the model, according to Nordhaven's own website. Unless my geography sucks we're still talking about a Chinese manufactured product.
