This video is all about the Nordic Hamstring Curl! There is no doubt the Nordic Curl is a tough exercise! Anyone who’s done it can attest to it! BUT we’re going to show you how to do a nordic hamstring curl progression using resistance bands!
A more common or natural hamstring curl variation includes lifting and lowering the lower portion of your leg. Typically this is done with weight of some kind attached to the lower leg. The nordic hamstring curl consists of lifting and lowering the entire upper portion of your body! This is why it can be so much more of a challenge!
The nordic curl requires someone or something to hold your feet in place. This could be a workout partner if you have one. However, if you’re going to do a nordic hamstring curl without a partner you could set up a nordic hamstring curl barbell variation or something of the sort like we’ll show in the video.
Although this exercise is challenging, the resistance band nordic curl will help even the nordic hamstring curl beginner be successful! We’ll walk you through the ideal setup for the banded nordic curl variation. We’ll even explain why the banded nordic curl will help you get the ideal range of motion of the nordic curl eccentric and concentric portions of the exercise. We’ll show you how to decrease the band assisted nordic curl until you’ve mastered the exercise!
