This video is all about the Nordic Hamstring Curl! There is no doubt the Nordic Curl is a tough exercise! Anyone who’s done it can attest to it! BUT we’re going to show you how to do a nordic hamstring curl progression using resistance bands!
A more common or natural hamstring curl variation includes lifting and lowering the lower portion of your leg. Typically this is done with weight of some kind attached to the lower leg. The nordic hamstring curl consists of lifting and lowering the entire upper portion of your body! This is why it can be so much more of a challenge!
The nordic curl requires someone or something to hold your feet in place. This could be a workout partner if you have one. However, if you’re going to do a nordic hamstring curl without a partner you could set up a nordic hamstring curl barbell variation or something of the sort like we’ll show in the video.
Although this exercise is challenging, the resistance band nordic curl will help even the nordic hamstring curl beginner be successful! We’ll walk you through the ideal setup for the banded nordic curl variation. We’ll even explain why the banded nordic curl will help you get the ideal range of motion of the nordic curl eccentric and concentric portions of the exercise. We’ll show you how to decrease the band assisted nordic curl until you’ve mastered the exercise!
One of the best things about this exercise is you can do the nordic hamstring curl at home without the need of any machines or heavy weight! So there’s really no excuse to skip this awesome exercise!

Today is my first try at it. I purchased the Nordic door set from Amazon. Even with the wide 11/2" band, I have to walk out and walk back with my hands. I go all the way to my elbows touching the floor then walk back. I can do 4 :)

Great exercise, nice setup. Impressive with your height and weight. You only know how hard this is if you tried nordics.

Just got the clench bands and it says you shouldn't stretch these out more than double the length. But you're doing practically that. How strong are these bands?

great. I have been doing these with the band around my upper chest vs holding it behind my head with my hands like you are doing. Any thoughts on my current method of banded nordics or is this way better because of x, y or Z?

Hey Pete, wrapping the band around your chest is just fine, as long as you can get the band tension set the way you need it to produce good productive reps. The only reason I hold the band with my hands is so that I can grab the band at different lengths to get the proper tension quickly and easily.

Hey. How do I know which resistance level band to use? I’m 190+ pounds. Should I go for the one that supports 90-220 pounds? Or the 50-120? Or 35-85?
