I am so happy that we have the preview period for making a wishlist. Mine has gone from over 20 items, down to 10, and my day to shop isn't until the 15th. I love having time to think about what I really want vs need, and if the items are sold out, then it wasn't meant to be.

I have several items on my wishlist. I am excited for the updated Caslon knit blazer. I have two of the flyaway style in different colors from previous years and I have an oversized more traditional style knit blazer from Caslon, too - I think it's even older. I teach, and they are perfect for looking put together but staying comfortable! I can wear them with slacks over a shirt or shell for a more dressed up look or over a graphic T with some jeans for a casual Friday. And I think the raw edges on the fabric give just a little bit of modern touch without looking too casual for work.

I am not going to be buying anything this time. It’s always rare for my favourite brands to go on sale in July but this year none of them have. With Nordstrom I usually do much better with the Black Friday sales in November.

I checked the sale preview two days ago, July 9, and many items were already sold out or only had one size left. I don’t understand this, as the sale doesn’t open until today for the top tier. Maybe employees had early access?

Having worked in retail ( and my dad retired from a career in newspaper retail advertising ) , I think people need to re-think the term " sale " . Is it really a sale ? Just sayin' ... Think loss-leader items , original high markups to be marked down on purpose , overstock , returned items , mis-marked ( sizes , etc. ) stock, etc. & shipping is not free - it's hidden in there somewhere, somehow . Sounds cynical , but it's a reality check . 🙂

No, in fact one of the employees told me today that they can’t shop it until it opens to non cardholders. Some items are just very limited inventory I think.

@@DressedforMyDaywithKayHarms Interesting , as a few places I've worked have let employees " put back " on hold a certain number of items pre-sale for their own purchasing at a deeper discount . Just depends on the store's policies . Also , having a limited number of deep discount items gets the public in the door to entice them to buy more & higher price items . True w/ selling everything fr. SUV's to makeup ! Retailing is a money game , not a charity .

I have such FOMO with this sale! However, that said - their selection of clothes in the sale for petites is really lacking. If you don't care for Wit & Wisdom jeans there is little from which to choose. Lingerie is a good buy if you wear Natori or Wacoal, but I would we vary of the beauty specials, as many of them are made just for this sale, and are not the same quality as regular items. I will keep my debit card in my wallet once again!
