I love Talbots. I started shopping from Talbots in 1978. After living in different regions of our country I know they will always have appropriate colors and styles available. My black is navy due to my coloring so from year to year I know that Talbots navy will not change, allowing me to add to my existing closet. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Kay, the color of the capsule is stunning! You look great in all of the outfits. Travel capsule is such a practical tool for packing. I went to UK for business for 10 days a few weeks ago. I picked black, grey, red colors for the outfits. I mapped them out and packed them all in one carry on suitcase, which also includes a beige coat, two pairs of shoes. I did wear all the clothes (except underware of cause)twice in different combinations. No waste of any piece. A total success.

I was a teacher, and I shopped at Talbots all the time. After I retired, I stopped, but you have brought me back. I just recently bought 2 pair of their flare pants. I wanted to buy that style, but was unable to find much that was wearable at Nordstrom or even Dillards. Wearable to me means washable and comfortable. I am also 5’ 8” so pant length is often a deciding factor. Thank you. I love that blue..

Love this! I always build my travel wardrobe around the colors black and white. One thing I try to do is make sure my jackets have a hood. They are hard to find but I don't like to pack an umbrella especially when traveling abroad. I LOVE that you were holding an atlas in the opening scene. I still keep one in my car. I use my GPS but a RAND McNALLY is a reliable back up!

Hi Kay. I love your videos. My husband is from Maine and there is no finer place in the world to take a summer vacation than the coast of Maine! Just one suggestion for your beautiful capsule wardrobe. Mark Twain said “if you don’t like the weather in New England, wait a few minutes”. That is absolutely true! I would recommend that you add an umbrella and a nice warm wool sweater. The cotton sweater you are planning on would be great too but there is nothing like wool for warmth. Maine can still be quite chilly in June. If you happen to go out on the ocean along the coast it is always cold, even though it might be warm onshore. The best days of my life have been spent in a boat on the coast of Maine with my husband. I hope you get to experience that as well. The coast of Maine is so interesting and dotted with islands and wildlife and absolute beauty. LL Beans has great wool sweaters year round I love Talbots but I am not sure they have much in the line of wool sweaters this time of year. I hope you have a wonderful time in Maine. Maybe you could make a vlog of it for us. I think people would really enjoy that. My husband and I plan a week on a different part of the Maine coast every summer and even though I have been to some pretty exotic places in my life it is our week on the coast of Maine that I have enjoyed the most of any . When you cross the border intoMaine there is a big sign that says “Maine, the way life should be.” It may not always be the easiest place to make a living but I think it is one of the best places on earth for a summer vacation. Have a grand time!

Mixing and matching is so much fun. I'd probably just bring one pair of white pants and one pair of black travel pants, and add in a pair of neutral linen pants. And I'd wear light blue instead of bright cobalt for the color. Bar Harbor/Acadia is so beautiful. I was there in my 20s and we did a good deal of hiking around on the pink granite hills!

I was surprised with the Black/White for Spring at Talbots; the butterfly theme is beautiful. I normally only wear in black pants (occasionally), shoes, and depending on outfit purse as I gravitate to navy. My pick is the butterfly toille blouse. Great combinations. I live in Miami, FL so their pima cotton t-shirt is the upscaled go to for me.

the look is stunning, lots of outfits with few pieces. i take 3-4 scarves in different colors that adds another complimenting color to my basic pieces. i can see , lime green, another print scarf with many tones of color. an after 5 scarf to elevate those pieces to a dressy night out.. thanks for the wonderful tips. i find doing a color capsule as you suggest, certainly makes dressing less stressful...

Good morning, Kay. The color combinations are beautiful. I really like the blue trench coat. My husband and I visited Bar Harbor, Maine and we absolutely loved it! Acadia National Park is amazing. If you are going to hike in the park, I would recommend having a good solid tread on your shoes. If you like lobster, add having a lobster roll on your "to do" list. I also have been shopping at Talbot's for over 30 years. I have two pairs of their joggers (navy and black) that I love traveling in. I will have to look into the traveler's pant. Exactly what I was thinking as I watched this. I thought oh my, Kay must be going to all those expensive coastal restaurants and shops! We don't live in Maine but my sister does and we have visited there countless times for years! I think of Maine as being much more casual than this. Thanks Kay, very useful for my 6 day trip later this month to Dublin and Belfast, where it's generally wetter and colder than London (and we have had a bit of snow today). Just a carry-on bag so a micro-capsule required! Great to know you plan to visit England. To be honest, in August it could be in the 60s and raining, or in the high 90s and a drought! Talbots used to be in a town near me but they apparently left the UK some years ago. I love your Wednesday videos and often take notes.

Just an FYI, the graphic tee that you are wearing is not a beach motif. It is, in fact, a Dutch scene with tulips and a windmill. Talbots has labeled it as "Keukenhof' in honor of the spring flower show for the Dutch floricultural sector.

I love classic styles, but Talbots makes a lot of them into mature clothes, I don’t like the 3/4-length sleeves and long tops to be worn like tunics.

I quit shopping at Talbots because of their quality and style and fit. I realized I ended up throwing out most things I bought there. I am a trim 5'8" 128 lb 74 yr old woman who wants to dress in a classy and elegant manner so no Talbots for me. Still like your videos though.

Susan, I know what you mean. I like the look of Talbots clothes and went there many times, trying on many things, trying to buy something that I like. It was hard to find things flattering me. Their clothes are not designed for trim and slender body types. The fit is always a little too loose for me. The top would fit me on the shoulder, too loose on the waist and arms. The pants never fits right at waist and hip (usually when one place fits, the other one doesn't). But the clothes always look so beautiful and appealing , I kept going back trying to find something fit every year. Finally I gave up and admit it is not a brand for me.

Capsule wardrobe idea seems restrictive and takes the joy out of clothing and fashion for me. Maybe that's just me but I think I'm not alone. It's more fun and freeing to find interesting pieces that are unique and don't necessarily work with 15 other items in your closet.

I’m a proponent of having a wardrobe that mixes and matches. Yes. I’m not one to have an extremely limited wardrobe myself. I just like to narrow down my colors so that it works together well. That’s all.
