As a licensed therapist- 1. Narcissists can change in therapy, but it has to be with the right therapist that specializes in personality disorders and the research suggests it will take many many years (10-15), 2. If your therapist is eating during a session and you don’t have a good therapeutic relationship THEY are not invested in their work (you shouldn’t eat during a session- if you’re burnt out and hungry, take less clients), 3. Caleb clearly hasn’t found a therapist that sees him fully and that he connects with. A good therapist will tell you the hard truths and you’ll feel it in your soul. Finding a therapist is hard. Just like finding a doctor, a mechanic, a dentist, a hair stylist/barber- sometimes you have to search for a while.

Loving yourself is also about holding yourself accountable. Because when we truly deeply love ourselves, we also want to do better for ourselves and for those around us we care about. I think most people would benefit from starting with the definition of love first THEN talk about complex things like radical self-love

I really appreciate Nori talking about how we (Trans people) internalize trans hate and how that affects the way we approach dating. Currently struggling with this right now! I have a date tonight and was contemplating cancelling because I am scared, but watching this made me feel more confident so thank you Nora and Caleb!
