It's not bad to take apart . Just did mine that was a trash pick. Getting spark and fuel but the plug seems like it has fowled. The diaphragm in the carb looked uneven. Will see after messing with some more.

First off, great video! Very detailed and well-documented. Second, I have a 125b and 125bvx. Both failed at almost exactly five years. 90~100psi on both. Carb cannot be rebuilt on new models (green fuel cap is old model, American parts, better quality) due to EPA mess. Most of it is sealed up good. Same reason those adjustment screws aren't phillips or flat, unlike on my motorcycles, tractors, etc. I was told to basically buy new carbs. Both blowers are not in the shop, likely bound for the trash. This DID force me to do the smart thing and pay more for a solid machine. I bought a Stihl BR800 X Magnum. My father-in-law is in construction and has Stihl products that he had before I met his daughter, fourteen years ago. All run flawlessly. I got a four-year warranty on mine at no charge. Oh, and it blows so much better than the old ones too! I might fix them and donate them, but I dunno', I don't want somebody mad at me!

great choice in blowers, but I do have to ask, did you ever consider replacing the carbs on the other blowers?
@GuretoSefirosu

@@HomeGaragechannel No, I run only 93/E0 and when I took apart the carbs as best I could, they were spotless inside. No torn gaskets, no stiff rubber, nothing. Clean as a whistle.

Mine stopped running after a year. Tore it apart. Found metal bits in the cylinder. Changed the piston and ring. New plug, filter, fuel, still wouldn’t start. Threw it in the trash. Felt good to be finally rid of it. After a few hours I retrieved it and gave it one last chance. It started and I finished the yard work with it. It’s still not completely running right but it’s getting there.

Just repaired one with the same issue. It was a loose carb boot.The carb intake boots get loose and they suck air and lean out. Always a good idea to tighten those two screws under the boot when you have it apart. If the carb wiggles at all the boot needs tightened.

I have a question about a Craftsman leaf blower that is at least 35 years old. No parts are now available but it is missing one of the carb adjustment screws. Will the machine run missing one of the screws? What can I do since there are no parts available? I love you videos. You explain everything so good.

I'd have to know the model number but someone only came with one. as far as your question, I'm not sure because I've never tried running a carb with a fuel adjustment screw missing. My guess is that it's not going to run well, or possibly not even start.

I have a RYOBI FULL CRANK Leaf blower,model number 2016RY25AxB . Got it given to me with no paper work included. Worked great the first year , this year it bogs down all the time . I checked the air filter and it's great. Onto the carb and cleaned and checked the diaphragm so they are good. I can't find any L or H screws and you know what those are. Put in a new spark plug and it still bogs but does sound like it wants to run. What is wrong with this thing ?
@HomeGaragechannel
@HomeGaragechannel 8 күн бұрын
sure, replace the carb, the diaphragm only needs to be reduced in flexibility by a little bit to keep it from working like should and causing it to bog down.

interesting, these are the problems that are the hardest to figure out. IF I had to guess, I think the blower is either flooded with fuel because it's easy to do with a hot engine or there's a gasket that's leaking and only proves to be a problem once it's hot enough.

@@HomeGaragechannel thanks yeah your video helped me. I didn't know which screw was what and I had already put it back together after cleaning the carb. I guess it was returned or just messed up at the factory but I've never encountered this before on a new saw. When I took the carb off fuel poured out of the head and the exhaust from me flooding it trying to start it and it being so out of adjustment I suppose. I could tell it was flooded but like I said I literally just bought the thing so I never expected to have problems right out of the box. Either way I started it again today and let it run and starts right up, idles fine, and runs great. Thanks again.

Hello i have a chainsaw that was running the day before but now wont start because it has no spark, do you know what could have happened?
@HomeGaragechannel

unfortunately no, I'd only be guessing but do me a favor and try starting it today but don't use the choke and squeeze the throttle if that's possible on your model

if you confirmed spark, have you considered checking the compression of the engine?
@DwayneDelacruz202
@DwayneDelacruz202 8 ай бұрын
@HomeGaragechannel well I don't have a Guage to check it, but I have a new piston in there and it sounds really compressed when I pull the rope to try to start it...

Hey bro what's up? To me it dosen't matter what brand of equipment a person uses but as for me, I know that you know where I stand with a certain brand of equipment. If this is what a person is able to afford and it is able to get their work done then by all means get it and get work done.

No, the simple solution is to adjust it properly. Not tear it down, but a new carb, (needlessly) and replace it.

Mine wouldn't start until I got a new coil, it fired right up but it wouldn't reach maximum RPMs like it did before, I tried adjusting the air mixture and nothing, I decided to put the old coil back in and to my surprise it started right up and ran like it always did, I'm completely baffled by this thing by now, the next time I tried to start it nothing, that was last year, after the winter I decided to mess with it again and it wouldn't start, I had made a new mixture of gas and oil and still no start now I notice gas leaking around the engine housing in back of the starter assembly, the other day I decided to try it again and on half choke it started, I used it two days in a row with no problems, today before going over my friends house to cut her grass it started right up on half choke, when I got to her house I needed to use it before cutting the grass and once again the bloody thing refused to start only 20 minutes before it started and ran fine, is it possessed should I call a priest, now it doesn't leak and the spark plug is bone dry before it was flooding like crazy, I hate to give up on things but I might have to throw in the towel on it, FYI, I had replaced the carburetor, do these have some sort of head gasket that might be blown, it's also very easy to pull the rope not much resistance, if it is low compression the why would it run at all, I'm stumped.
@HomeGaragechannel
@HomeGaragechannel 3 ай бұрын
it has a gasket at the base of the cylinder but it wouldn't affect the compression. When a blower starts one day, and not 20 minutes later or even the next day.. I'd day it was either related to engine seals, or the compression is right on the edge of working.
