another tip: when a noble has a star on the management skill, if they level it up to 15 they get a trait that will let them run the chancellry without needing paper. This will not only make the noble an absolute taskmaster machine dishing out orders non-stop but also free up your paper to be sold or used by messengers.

Pretty sure they can do that once they have the star on management, they unlock an additional ability once they reach level 15 (if I understood it correctly)

@Thanetian Gaming I personally never put rutabaga fields on fertile farmland because the game gives you so little of land to use. The reason for this is because on basic land they have a base of 60% fertility. While rye and hop fields have a base of 40%. Rutabaga fields from what I have done on my game give ample amount of resources just on basic land especially if you have the Varns culture working on them. Rutabaga are a good source of food and drink at the start but as soon as you get rye they get quickly outshined as a cheaper alternative. I mean flavorful ale is good but I could never get enough herbs to justify making them. Plus I personally always give my peasants enough to buy both beer and flour plus a coin extra so they save. If anything I give the rutabaga and moonshine to the prisoners because that’s what those inferior people get.

Something nifty I found you can do is recruit prisoners to your army and then remove them from the army, and now they're peasants in your town. No idea if this is valuable or not, but it has given me the ability to boost my population early in the game cause I buy them from the trader before I even have a prison house, then add them to my army and remove them to add them to my populace.

One suggestion about city planning. Don’t build all of your houses tougher on one side. People need to travel across the map and it will reduce efficiency. Build them by zone and keep people in their zone. In the center map, this is where you build the public service buildings so people will only need to travel half of the map

I think they still need to optimise the economics in the second tier (making paper) removing the tool requirement as this is too taxing for the purpose of scaling to large economies

Pro tip, begin terrorizing your main cultures hated culture, after I did that I had about 28 loyalists with a pop of 64, even better when you get those pig farms out and have a Well Mannered Warrior King.

@@FLiXHi no, you keep them and can sell them later if you choose. If the person who learned a book dies, then that knowledge dies with them and the book has to be read by somebody else. It's worth keeping hold of the books.

Oh, so to get through early game you just double your starting gold and skip to 36 days later T_T

Yep, it's that easy! Time is finite, make savings where you can and you'll have more time for other stuff. Upping the gold just takes out some unnecessary grind.

A beginners tip that I can give is that always have 1 of the villages deliver Rutabaga to you, or have both villages deliver Rutabaga since this resource can disappear easily if you don't pay attention. I only had 1 lvl 3 iron mine and herbalist and both resource shot up to 300 without me noticing but my Rutabaga and Moonshine kept on disappearing (I have 5 Rutabaga farms) making me buy bulks of them whenever the trader come up. Another thing to note is that make sure to regularly hunt Fleshwolves since these can give you 3 meats and they always spawn in 4 or 5 number and can really help you early on, I have 3 lvl 3 Pig Farms and even then they're still not enough for meat production so I have to regularly hunt the wolves.

Actually I personally disagree, rutabaga is actually pretty available at the start. I go with wood and iron just like in the video. Both are scarce resources both especially at mid-late game. Besides rutabagas are actually pretty bad as it and moonshine give pretty bad opinions to your people. They are a good starter of basic food and drink to peasants but quickly get outshine by flour and beer when you unlock them by like day 3-5.

Sure wood and iron are both finite resources but in my current playthrough, I have 3 lvl 2 woodcutters and the trees seem to regenerate more than they're being cut, I think it's the same with the mine, I think the mines regenerate as well but I don't have any proof to back it up.

@@Filsoh Maces are good for capturing prisoners. Spears good for cheap killing. Swords are best for killing.

@@HenriqueRJchiki easy? Halfway through most playthroughs all my Lords are trying to kill each other, I have smallpox killing my peasants and there's usually a large band of marauders that want to burn my city to the ground!

@@ThanetianGamingTrue it’s farm from easy in terms of management however battles are easy since u can just hire as many warriors and their tax and maintenance is affordable otherwise it’s a nightmare mid to late game

😂😂 easy… I’m on easy mode and on days 30 all of my Neigbors have about 25 heavy armor fighters on them while I’m barely making weapons
