Norm's comedy was actually brilliant and ingenious because they came in Long stories where he remembered everybody's parts.. Like telling the story about the railway guy who like to beat up on homeless people and how the pig ended up being his wife.. Actually a very long joke requiring memory of said people what they were doing what was going on around them.. And then his flat Affleck in the way that he told it was actually when made it that way it was the punch and a kick all at the same time.. Norm was definitely one of a kind may, he rest in peace..

I listen to these compilations and laugh out loud as I’m driving. What a gift; to be able to make people laugh without resorting to the cheap tricks most commonly employed by comics these days. No wonder they all admire him so much. I hope he found peace and comfort through God in his last days.

The bed and breakfast joke was hilarious because it was a long rambling waste of time during prime time tv. Every second that goes by is expensive and potential ad money... but he just went on and on in mundane detail about a scrabble game. Hilarious.

" I hate Applause. I don't like an audience applauding because to me that's like a cheap kind of high. They kind of control you. They're like 'Yeah, we agree.' That's all they're doing, saying they agree with your viewpoint. And while you can applaud voluntarily, you can't laugh voluntarily - you have to laugh involuntarily- sol hate it when an audience applauds. I don't want to say things that an audience agrees with, I don't wan to say anything that an audience already thinks." - NORM MACDONALD

Yup, I appreciate him kinda cutting them off when they do. Always disliked applause. Sometimes I'd do it in an audience, but keep going for an uncomfortable amount of time because a few people would always follow.

I would have asked old Harold Delaney how long he’s played scrabble and the tell him about the blanks and say you musta thrown out the directions which state the lowest score wins. You see the strategy is to get the other players pushed to the high point area so they are forced to use their letters. Which is the reason there’s always one person walking behind everyone to whisper words they see on your letter holder. Then say oh I get it, you play to score high to be nice for your guests to win. Thanks Harold
