a great similarity between both call me by your name and normal people is how both couples communicate! its found through physical intimacy, body language and the silence that can express more than words. As Connell said, "I thought I could read your mind at times". The beauty of suggestion in both works is so realistic because we all become vulnerable to the truth of our own feelings and the fear of loss or rejection that can come from communicating.

A friend told me about Normal People but it’s on Hulu. At the time I did not have Hulu but I got it and watched this immediately. I have never cried so much and loved a couple more. At the same time I wanted to shake sense into both Marianne & Connell. They just don’t work well without each other and make terrible decisions in other relationships. Especially poor Marianne. Connell isn’t much better but was never in abusive, awful relationships. He just chose the wrong girl and knew the whole time Marianne was the one. They also have TERRIBLE communication skills. Not until all is said and done do they make rational decisions. That said even with Connell going to New York; they won’t be able to stay apart. So, in my mind either he comes back and sees her or she decides, screw this I am going to New York and see my man.😂😂😂
