Nice tri. With those home made deck hatches, they will let in water when you get a green wave breaking over the deck (probably why Donald Crowhurst failed). Simple way to improve it, fix a deflector batten to the deck just in front of the hatch, so the flow of water goes over the hatch, rather than under the lip as you have at present
