You know what? I've been GAS'ing for a guitar from the year of my birth, and I think a 1962 ES-125 might just fit the bill! Affordable too. And while I'm here, can I just give a shout out to Guitarpoint Guitars in Germany (I'm not advertising the competition, I doubt if any of Norm's customers would want to pay the shipping). Great alternative (or addition) to Mark if you want to see some vintage planks getting spanked. kzbin.info/door/E657sh-FvHnXTQI3ZLBqLg

I have the same version 125 TDC. Mine's from '65 with the chrome P90 pickup covers. It was a feedback monster. At first I stuck cardboard in the f holes then just relented and bought a new strat. This was back in '73. Talk about 2 ends of the guitar spectrum. Eventually sold the strat. Still have the 125.

I am so happy! I have that exact same guitar (not as clean though) and I gotta tell ya they are barn burners! On one of the videos on your site Joe Bonamassa talks about how important it is ti use the volume control and these guitars are a great example of that. I play more jazzy stuff and I rarely open the volume pot up all the way and I get a nice sort of Charlie Christian sound. But it sure is fun to open it up all the way and rattle the windows for a while. These are great guitars and they are generally the most inexpensive of the ES guitars. There also seem to be quite a few of them out there so they are a great chance to get a great vintage guitar for a reasonable price. Thank you so much for finally doing one they are my absolute favorite of the ES guitars and I have been waiting forever to see one on GOTD. FYI there are some 3/4 size ones out there that are really cute!

Thus, I would like to be entertained; I want you to play jazz on a fretless bass for Thumpin' Thursday. Or depending on the day, give me a killer maple-boarded strat. Thanks for providing the giggles and finger tickles. Edit: if you want to keep the respect of the viewers, I'd also be fine with you playing Bennie and the Jets for me.

What is the tuning on the second and third songs ?
@jamesthe-doctor89817 жыл бұрын
Yep, open G. = D, G, D, G, B, D. Just drop both E-strings to D by tuning them to your D-string, then drop your A-string down to G by matching it to your G-string. It will be a little below Open G pitch, due to the drop in tension from loosening the strings so, if you want it perfect, use your tuner. Otherwise, it's super fast to tune the way I described above, which is how Mark did it in this video.
