The gravel fell because it’s one of the blocks that actually follows the rules of gravity. It didn’t fall before because when the world was first generated it didn’t process it didn’t have a supporting block under it until dream refreshed it when he placed the block on top. That can happen with sand aswell.

The technical term is, when he placed that netherrack it triggered a block update of the gravel below. Since that gravel figured out it has to fall it sends out block updates to its neighbouring gravel blocks as well so they could fall properly as well. The only way to have gravel (or sand) in the air without a block below them is to have them generated (/setblock or being spawned in with the terrain). Otherwise they will have to fall.

And because the blocks used to cover the hole wouldn’t look natural. When you mine stone you get cobblestone, so if you covered the hole with cobblestone it would look out of place. If you placed dirt on it, it would take a bit for grass to grow over it, and a giant brown patch of dirt in the middle of a field is pretty obvious as well.

Ok so if your confused on the ending and where dream was. When you beat the ender dragon a special portal thing will appear and if you go in it you get sent to the outer end islands which is where dream went. These islands are very far from the central end island but dream went there with his flying machine. The purple structures were end cities and end ships which contain a bunch of good loot. End ships contain the elytra which are basically wings and you can propell yourself with them using firework rockets.

The reason Dream was using an axe is because in 1.9+ PvP axes deal more damage than swords, and they can disable shields for a short amount of time.

Yes, though there is a disadvantage, that being that axes can't attack as fast. However, when you're fighting an enemy with a shield, it's much better to have a weapon that can actually get through it rather than one that can helplessly scratch the surface of the shield a little bit faster.

The end cities spawn around 1000 blocks away from the main end island, and the most common way of getting there is killing the dragon and getting the 'End gateway', but in the video, he used a contraption called a flying machine, which is a redstone contraption that infinitely goes towards one direction, and he flew for around 1000 blocks, before reaching the cities.

This comment is for Steph, at 17:01, Dream was able to one shot the hunters because he did a jump crit on them, which does 1.5 more the normal damage. Axes in this version are more deadly than Swords, and since the hunters had no Armor already, and the 1.5 extra damage of the axe, Dream was Able to one-shot them.

The reason why he kills them so quickly with the axes is because in the version of minecraft they are playing in, they do more critical damage and its hard to survive 2. The Hay bales that was in 23:02 prevent you from taking as much fall damage as you normally would 3. at 36:46 yes, they can all use the same bed to set their spawns there 4. 41:27 that is a Slime which is used for slime blocks, you kill it and it dups itself 3 times total then when the baby ones die you get slime blocks which he later uses for the redstone flying machine 5. 44:53 no once you enter the end, the only way back is by defeating the dragon to open up the portal, otherwise, you have to die to leave if you cant kill the dragon 6. 46:38 if you dont completely understand, he builds the flying machine to find something called an end city which sometimes contains and elytra , which he finds later 7. 47:42 the elytra is basically a pair of wings that lets you fly when you are high enough in the air and the rockets boost his speed when flying 8. 50:17 yes you still take damage with diamond gear, also the things he are eating are called Chorus fruit which when eaten, teleport you just a little bit near by Let me know if you want to have any other questions answered, here or in future videos, i have fun watching your content and wouldnt mind helping you. Facts to help u: Hay Bales reduce fall damage by 80%, Dream uses tnt to get blocks in the nether, flying boat came from Minecraft Hitmen (watch that also), Soul Speed is an enchantment that makes players run much faster on soul sand/soil (this is why george said he's faster), boats apparently collide with entities (ex. ghast clutch moment), the outer end islands are 1k blocks away from the main end island (dragon island), it can be reached after killing the ender dragon and pearling through the gateway (or you could just fly over there without killing the dragon). Here’s an explanation for most things: The hunters have a compass that always points to dream, whenever dream is randomly exploding things in the nether it’s to get blocks, normally to get to the place dream went to you which is called the end city you have to defeat the ended dragon and go through a second portal that opens up but if you travel far enough in a certain direction you can get there anyway. The wings that dream got are an endgame item that lets you glide but if you get rockets you can boost yourself in any direction to basically fly. If you place the yellow haybale block under you when you fall it’s like water but it only reduces fall damage it doesn’t prevent it. The dimensions aren’t just big they are infinite. The big green blob is a slime and they are kinda rare because they only spawn in swamp biomes and already have a lower spawn chance (Like so Wes and steph can see)

So in this comment im going to try to explain everything about the game and how dream does what he did in the video. So first the game. Minecraft is pretty self-explanatory, you gather materials and tools and get enough gear to defeat the finals boss, the enderdragon. Pretty simple yea? Manhunts are all about beating the game as fast as possible. They were originally named, "Hunter vs Speedrunner" or something around the lines of that. Speedrunning is just beating the game as fast as possible. Manhunt is 1 person speedrunning to beat the game as fast as possible with hunters chasing after them. (In Dream's case he now has 5 hunters because he has already beaten 1-4 hunters at least 3 times). There are non-official and official rules for the game that everyone in Dream's videos knows about, however some rules are added after certain videos, because there are new bugs found in the game all the time (An example is how he insta kills the dragon. It is no longer allowed to be used.). So for the hunters to win, they have to kill dream before he kills the enderdragon, and for Dream to win, he has to kill the enderdragon before he dies (Note: He does NOT have to get into the portal. This was argued about in previous manhunts because he kills the dragon and dies before getting in the portal). Note: The hunters have a compass that will lead them to Dream's last known location. The reason i say last known location, is because the compass does not work if they are not in the same dimension (Overworld, Nether, End. IE: If Dream is in the nether, and the hunters are in the overworld, it will lead the hunters to where Dream was before he got into the nether.) However, if they are in the same dimension it works no matter what. (So if The hunters Go into the nether portal, they can start tracking Dream again.) So to beat minecraft (what Dream is doing), you have to get obsidan and flint n' steal, so you can make a nether portal. This is important because the Nether is the only place you can get blaze rods which are required in the recipe for Eye of Ender (The item needed to open the end portal, which is the only way to get to the final boss). The only item needed other than blaze rods is ender pearls, which can be gathered by killing enderman (The tall black mob with purple sparkles and terrifying eyes that teleports), or you can trade with piglins (the mob in the nether that looks like technoblade) and they will occasionally drop them. After getting both items, he has to use the Eye of Ender to find the portal, and then use the eyes to fill the portal frames, where he can then kill the mobs. Here are answers to your questions. 1. Can they see each others health? Answer: No. They cannot see each others health, thats why Dream can scare them away even at half a heart. 2. Why does Dream switch between axes and swords? Answer: The Axe can temporarily break the shield, so Dream will hit the shield with his axe so they cannot use it, then he will switch to his sword because his sword has a faster cool down. (If you wait til the cool down resets you do more damage. So by switching to the sword he does more damage, at a faster rate.) 3. Why does dream not cover the cave entrance? 13:40 Short Answer: It's a waste of time. Long Answer: Dream could, but if he did he would lose time, and it would ultimately not be worth it, because the hunters will just use the compass to dig down on top of him. This means that the Cave entrance he covered, would be meaningless because they most likely wouldn't have found it anyways. 4. How does Dream always kill them in one shot? Answer: Critical hits with an axe deal a lot of damage. If you have full iron armor, you'd still die in around 4 hits from Critical hits with an Iron axe. Dream is really good at 1.9+ pvp, so he can use Axe crits really well. The hunters are also good, but Dream is just on a whole other level. 5. This one isn't really a question, but you have a very shocked look on your face so ill explain it. 19:06 Answer: What dream is doing is an advanced technique for making a nether portal. Water + lava = Obsidian (If done right, otherwise itll turn into cobblestone). There are tutorials on how to do this. Feel free to look them up, but it's too much work to explain in a comment section. He uses this technique, because it is much faster than mining obsidian, and making the portal. 6. Why did it collapse? 20:30 Answer: Sometimes the world generation will glitch and create floating blocks. You see it all the time in minecraft. It just so happens, that when this glitch happens, if the blocks are sand and gravel they will float (Instead of falling like they normally would). This is because the blocks haven't been updated. The blocks will update if you break one, or place a new block next to it or on it. 7. This isn't really a question, but I'll explain it. 20:45 Answer: This is called speed bridging. This is NOT simple. This was only found out to be possible in 2018 (maybe a little earlier) and while that sounds like a long time ago, remember that the game came out in 2011. This is done by shifting to the edge of a block, and timing your shift clicks whilst holding down right click. If done properly you will start to bridge faste than if you hold shift and right click while walking backwards. (Again, this is a VERY VERY difficult mechanic, that takes some people weeks or even months to be able to do. 8. How did he not die from this jump? 23:00 Answer: There are blocks that will make you take less fall damage in minecraft. These blocks are Hay Bales, Beds, ladders, and water. (I might have missed a few) He had hay bales, so he jumped and before he landed he placed them to take less damage. 9. Why did he place tnt? 23:20 Answer: he placed tnt so he could get blocks quicker. Mining is typically really slow, so he used tnt to do it as fast as possible. 10. Why can't Dream out run George? 26:20 Answer: He cannot outrun him because George has an enchantment on his boost called soul speed which makes him run faster on soul sand and soul soil. 11. Why did Dream scream? 35:16 Answer: he screamed to cover up the sound of him breaking the tnt. He knew that it was trap because he saw the string on the ground, and so he broke the tnt and masked it with screaming so they didn't get suspicious and come out of their hiding spot. 12. Where is he going? Answer; He used the slime balls he got from killing slimes (The green jello creatures), and the quartz he got from going back to the nether to make observers (the redstone thing will faces on it) and a boat to travel to the end game islands. These "Endgame Islands" are islands that have a ton of good resource slike diamond armor and elytras and lots of other good stuff. They are 1000 blocks away from the main island. He used the redstone flying machine (rocket ship as i like to call them) to get to these ialands so he could have a better chance at beating the game. 13> I didnt even know this was a thing! 47:30 Answer: the elytra is a type of wings that allow you to glide, if you have fireworks you can fly with them. They are very useful for getting around. The purple blocks that shoot him and make him fly are called shulkers. They are a mob that is semi difficult to kill in groups but easy to kill alone. They are only found on these islands. The airship and the towers he went into are part of whats called an "End City" which was added in during 1.12 if i remember correctly. They hold lots and lots of good loot as you see in the video, and are worth going to IF you are prepared (I only mention this because tons of people go without being prepared and die. They then lose all their stuff and get a little upset). 14. How is he teleporting? 50:22 Answer: the thing he is eating is called Chorus Fruit. It is dangerous to use and teleports you randomly whilst filling very little hunger. It is useful to get out of traps. He is eating it to avoid getting hit because he is not wearing a chestplate. He is not wearing a chestplate because the elytra can not be used with a chestplate. NOTE: The jump into the water at the start of the video. -He knew there was water there, because every wheat farm has a strip of water next to it. At the start of the video you can see him looking around in circles. If you pay attention, he is scouting so he can decide which way is the best way to run. He saw village structures and ran that way to see if there was a farm. - They do NOT scout the maps before hand, they do have 1 person who scouts maps for them that would be cool to see a manhunt on. To address your questions! 1) They actually don't scout the seeds before they play them! Dream has like a five minute buffer where if a recording is too short, they won't use it. Thus, Dream actually loses probably like half to 60% of the vids he records. Also, he probably saw the farmland from afar; desert villages are very monotone beige, so the dark color is a dead giveaway of farmland, which has water. Dream is awesome. 2) Axes and swords are both very strong in combat-- with an iron axe, he can do 8 damage per hit, and with the diamond sword, he can do 7. The main difference is that the axe can't swing as fast but can knock down your shield if you try to block it! The sword swings faster but can be avoided with a shield.

Why Dream uses the axe is because it’s OP. When you land a critical hit with a full strength axe swing it does a lot more damage than a Diamond Sword. You might ask: “then why have the sword?” The sword can hit multiple targets and it’s much faster than the axe. In PvP Axe is normally consider better and PvE Sword is considered better.

It's the outer end islands, where you can access through throwing an ender pearl through a SECOND, tiny portal with a beacon beam colored purple poking out from both ends! Do some exploring and you will come across these: Chorus fruit Get it from mining a chorus plant. Eat it to teleport randomly. Chorus flower The larger growths on the plant with a different texture. Mine it with an axe to replant it somewhere on end stone. End cities: Purpur brick and pillar Purple bricks and pillars. Craft it from popped chorus fruit, which is made in a furnace with a regular chorus fruit End stone bricks Craft it from end stone. The inner bit of the walls. End rods Long, glowing tubes that emit light. You can make it from a blaze rod and a popped chorus fruit. Shulkers The new mobs that opened and closed. The bullets they fire seeks you actively, and can only be destroyed with a wall or shield. If it hits you, you get the levitation effect which makes you float. Shulker box Make it from two shulker shells (dropped by shulkers) and a chest. You can carry it around in your inventory with the items INSIDE the box, which is like an inventory expansion. Elytra Wings you wear on your chestplate slot. Uncraftable. You can glide for short distances by jumping in the air while falling, and to propel yourself upwards use a firework. Once it breaks, it's still there but doesn't work, and you need phantom membrane to fix it. The membrane is dropped by phantoms, which spawn after 3 days without sleeping in a bed.

So basically, when u defeat the ender dragon, it unlocks a second portal that allows u to go to other islands. and on those islands are end cities. but dream cheated the system and made a flying machine to get there before defeating the dragon. In the end cities, there are ships that contain elytra wings. which is what allowed dream to fly. but the amazing part is that he did this before he defeated the ender dragon by the flying machine

So for the manhunt rules. They are (From 3 hunters on at least) 1. Not on a random seed. Though the hunters/hunted aren't informed of the seed the seeds are scouted in advance for cool terrain/structures relatively close to spawn to facilitate content. 2. For content reasons rather than having a grace period if dream dies in the initial escape the run is scrapped. Only runs where dream makes his initial escape count to the best of 5 as it turns out escaping 3-5 people with no resources is tough no matter how good one is. 3. To incentivize the hunters there is a bounty on dreams head in the games. If I recall it is 10000 for each time they kill him, regardless of if its a video or not, thus why they are so agressive even early. 4. This is speculation as a person who has watched a lot of non dream manhunts (mostly with the rainbow team, a much smaller group which does them basically weekly), but I think certain things like bed bombs, enchant grinding, and others are banned after 1 use in the dream manhunts (to keep them from just spamming beds in the nether or prot 4 armor to be nigh unkillable, or mushrooming the end portal). I don't have a hard confirm on this like the others but I do think it is the case. I hope this helps you understand the context of the hunts. Also I do think it might be interesting if you check out the rainbow squad (as I call them), though they are much smaller, ranging from 50k to 300k subscribers, some of their hunts do have quite a bit over a million views. I know they are small compared to dream but still worth checking out. Kier&Dev is the largest of the smaller manhunt channels and their current most popular video is "minecraft manhunt but I am a redstone master" with a 1.5 million viewcount. I understand if you don't view it as worth your time but I did think it was worth suggesting.

I remember the bounty differently: The hunters get a bounty if they get an early kill only, and it's 1000 each. Certain strats (such as f.e. the nether roof trap) are banned from future manhunts. Portal traveling is not allowed unless Dream has to do so, going to the second stronghold must only be done if the first one is compromised (mushroomed the portal, for example), and a few other broken strategies are banned after they happen once. Note that many things aren't _as_ broken (it's broken if it becomes impossible or nearly impossible for Dream to win even if he didn't have to worry about PVP). Also instant damage 2 is broken (4 hunters finale rematch). Thus it's not exactly allowed because Dream doesn't have counterplay for that.

Yeah it's interesting because on Manhunt servers none of this is the case and things end up being a bit different. Bed suicidebombing is sort of considered a noob strat and some don't like it but it is pretty lethal. Portal traps are also allowed so always carry blocks and set your spawn before entering as a hunter. Subspace bubble is also allowed, as are things like mushrooming the end portal. What this all ends up meaning is that the Nether is a really dangerous place.

Hi I'm gonna answer questions and explain things so: First, I want to say correct me pleaseeee. I'm pretty sure I have something wrong so if you find anything tell me. That would be awesome thanks. Also tell me if you have anything to add on to what I did. At 1:50 Dream mentioned in a stream that they do scout the maps somewhat to make the video interesting and not just have it be boring. So there are typically villages at the start. 2:16 Everyone else died or is going down the mountain slower. They did jump after him thats why they died. You can see it in the bottom left corner. 4:20 It is right you can cook the meat, you can also eat it raw though. Cooked things fill up more of your hunger bar than raw things, meaning that a raw pork chop will give you less hunger back then a cooked pork chop. In Minecraft there is saturation. Basically different foods have different saturation levels that cause you to lose hunger bars faster or slower. 4:54 This is just FYI, desert temples have good items in them. (like iron or even diamonds!) 5:15 Axes do more damage than swords thats why Dream is more powerful when he has an axe. But if you have lets say an iron sword and a stone axe, the sword does more damage (I think idk) because its made of (in the game) a stronger material. 6:22 Shields allow you to block someones hit (like you think it would) and you take no damage. 6:28 When there is a dolphin in the water that can see you swimming it will swim behind you til you stop swimming. This makes you much faster. (btw its called the Dolphin Effect) 7:17 He is in the sea kelp because then (because of Minecraft mechanics) when they try to hit him they will just not be able to. Its complicated but you cant break the kelp because there is a player in it and you cant hit the player because they are in the kelp. The one problem for Dream is that if they try multiple times Minecraft will notice and break the kelp. Thats why Dream cant stay in there forever. 9:30 Well, you have to get in the boat to be safe but that is true: If you drop a boat and get in your safe from fall damage. If you don't get in though you still take the fall damage. 10:02 Here is another opportunity to talk about food! Yeah well, I just wanted to say that raw foods have less saturation thats in general why they are worse. It means that you will loose hunger faster so it requires you to have much more food with you. Just inconvenient. In this particular situation he is eating raw because he didn't have time to cook it. 10:30 What Dream did there is George was in the air aiming for the block under the wood. Dream placed the wood last second so George wouldn't make it across and it didn't work. Its a typical strategy of Dreams. 10:38 Here he is hitting his head on the tree. Basically he it jumping under the tree. Because of Minecraft mechanics this makes you run faster under the tree. 11:37 If you look at the bottom you will see one square which is your other hand or you "off hand" then there are 8 squares each of them are "slots". These 8 slots together are you hot-bar. You can use you keys on the keyboard 1-8 to switch to the different slots in your hot-bar. If you look in the frame, Dream is currently in the first slot of his hot-bar. His diamond sword is in the second slot. That is where his sword went. 13:33 He can but they can still see his name tag from up above. If you crouch in Minecraft though, you name tag cant be seen. But the hunters find him because they have compasses that show the direction that he is in. When the are above or below him it will obviously spins they would find him eventually its just about time for him when he hides. This is how far I got. I will update soon. Okay, so you were wondering why dream knew there was tnt below the nether portal. And it is because of this; right before he went through, he saw string lying on the ground, which was connected to tripwire hooks. And if you were to walk over it, they would release a red stone signal, which would then trigger the tnt and kill dream. So when he saw it, he went under to see what the tripwire hooks would trigger, and sure enough, it was tnt. Hope this was helpful.

I haven't watched through the whole video yet, but I wanted to help you guys out with some stuff from the video. So the times whenever Stephanie says "how did dream do that so fast?" Is just his editing. He edits boring parts out and tries to edit the video to the pace of the music sometimes he says. He uploads unedited versions of most manhunts so you can see what was going on between cuts. Another thing, in the nether, when dream is blowing up tnt he's just getting extra blocks to build with. It saves time instead of having to mine it. When dream would jump from tall heights and place down the "wheat" he's placing a hay bale which reduces fall damage. I think of it as how they jump from buildings in assassin's creed. Also, you may have been confused as to why dream was using an axe the majority of the time. In the version of Minecraft they play on, axes do more damage. But the swing has a cool down. Swords do less damage but they have a shorter cool down so you can swing faster.

the reason why the blocks collapsed in the nether was that some blocks like sand and gravel actually fall if there is nothing under them. But if gravel or sand is naturally generated it wont fall until the player or entity places something on the block or breaks it.

A few things about the end that I saw confused you guys: after killing the ender dragon another portal opens in the end that if you go through takes you to that place that he was at. However you can also get there by building and stuff but it is thousands of blocks away so using that machine was the fastest way. When you get to this far end place you can find end city's (the tower like things that he went to and got all that diamond gear) and airships (the place he got the elytra from). The elytra allows you to glide down slowly and allows you to cover more ground way quicker. However if you use a firework while wearing an elytria then you will be sent upward in a boost that allows you to go even farther. That is how he got back to the dragon and then defeated it

another thing also: you did noticed that Dream went back to the nether. He is getting quartz from there to craft observers. Observers are redstone powered blocks (that's also why he is getting redstone). It has a face in the back and a signal in front. When the face will detect/see an entity or a block passing through it or being placed, a redstone signal will generate making the pistons work for the flying machine

In case you didn't know for 23:08 , Hay Bales (Wheat Blocks) reduce fall damage by a significant margin! And, to explain the End, both of the video, and in Minecraft, what Dream did was make a flying machine to drag himself through the sky, to the End Islands. The End Islands are only supposed to be accessed through a portal that spawns AFTER you kill the Ender Dragon. However they are only a few thousand block away from where you spawn in the End, meaning, with enough blocks, you *could* build a bridge over to them. On these End Islands are End Cities, which contain Shulkers, shelled enemies that cause you to levitate if their projectile hits, and chests FULL of Enchanted Iron and Diamond Gear, along with various resources. One special structure found in these End Cities is the Airship, which contains Potions, three loot chests, and The Elytra, which allows the closest thing to flight you can get in Survival Minecraft. With Firework Rockets, you can propel yourself into the sky, and fly for thousands of blocks without much issue, going much faster than any other mode of transportation.

Dream was using an axe instead of a sword as it does more damage. A wood axe does 7 damage without armor which is the same as a diamond sword. A stone iron or diamond axe does 9 damage without. The axe also has a chance of disabling the shield for few seconds if you hit the shield. He kept the sword too though since while the axe does more damage it also has a longer cooldown to hit again compared to the sword. Also he always jumps and swings the axe or sword when he is coming down from the jump as you get a critical hit if you swing while falling which does 1.5 times more damage. Hope it helps :)

He had almost no armor on and 2.) in Minecraft, when you fall down while hitting something, you deal critical hits that do a lot more damage (you can see the critical hits when they have brown particles on the person getting hit). That's why Dream and the hunters usually jump up before they hit, so they deal the maximum amount of damage possible. 20:35 Sand and gravel fall down if there are no blocks below them. Sometimes, sand and gravel can spawn naturally without any blocks, so when they get updated (e.g. a block is placed or destroyed next to them) they fall down. 46:40 Those are the Outer End Islands, they were added during update 1.9 several years ago. Usually you can reach them using a small portal that spawns when you kill the Ender Dragon, but you could also use flying machines to go there. The structures he visits are end cities, which have really rare gear and mobs. The wings he uses are called Elytra. The purple food he eats is called chorus fruit, it has the ability to teleport you to a random location. 49:17 Ender pearls deal damage when you teleport using them. Bad probably had very low health so he died when he teleported. 50:09 Diamond is pretty strong, but as of the Nether Update there's another stronger armor called Netherite. It's stronger than diamond and also offers some knockback resistance for armor, and netherite items don't burn if you drop them in lava.

The answer to “why so much damage” is 1. Axes do a lot of damage, 2. Armor might not be very high, and 3. Critical strikes, which require a timed strike and are hard-ish to pull off in pvp, are 2x damage.

Another thing to know is that the max height you can fall and survive from is 25 blocks and what the hay bale does when you fall on it is reduce the fall damage by 4 times the normal height, so basically the max height you can jump from when you are jumping onto a hay bale block is 100 blocks!

The end thing is called an End city. You are able to go to it when you're in the end. It holds lots of loot and treasures, but it is also very dangerous.
