The reason Blair doesn't know Top Cat is that, despite Top Cat being an American cartoon, it was not NEARLY as famous in the USA as it was in the UK, where apparently it was played all the time. In the USA, it was just one of dozens (if not hundreds) of Hanna Barbera cartoons that didn't get seen much after its original airing. Nobody in the USA even remembers Top Cat ever existed (except those of us who have specialized knowledge).

Hanna Barbera cartoons were shown a lot on Boomerang; Jetsons, Flintstones, and Yogi were on a lot more than other cartoons. That being said, Top Cat wasn't nearly on Boomerang as much as the others. Then, as time went on, the shows that were on Cartoon Network moved to Boomerang, thus phasing it out almost completely. Dad is still surprised I know of and watched Snorks and Snagglepuss

I had no name recognition. I did a quick google search, and I remember seeing him show up on bumpers and little short bits on Cartoon Network. Never watched the show or even really knew what he was from.

My first cat was called Pussy. It was a wild adopted stray. I vaguely rememer how they looked with their little white socks. They were super protective I'm told. Always camping out under our strollers and attacking anything that disturbed us sleeping and caused us to cry. Lashing out at invading gechos and spiders etc. It got its name because dad refused to stand at the front door at night shouting out "Sylvester" every evening as that would make him look silly. "Puss, Puss, Puss!" was much better. Silly Sullivan, I'm with John with this 😊

I (an American) also learned about the cartoon from using TOPCAT! 😹 Though for me someone told me about it when I started using it in grad school a few years ago, and that was in Australia so it might've been more popular over there. Apparently the logo even when I started using it was a picture of the eponymous cartoon character, and only recently changed to be more generic.

yall didnt play with personal objectives and the bonus markers for rocket spaces, the first time i taught this game i also forgot to play with the rocket space markers and the difference is massive. with the rocket markers you can refresh dice, move 4 spaces, and get additional points, the first two making the trip to deepspace a lot easier
