Just looked at some Norse Kayaks. They had several of them at our local outfitters/kayak store. They looked fantastic! Very comfortable and of excellent quality. Unfortunately, every single one had gel coat cracks at the ends of the skeg box. After doing some research, I found that this is an issue with these boats. According to Norse Kayaks, it has to do with the way they package the boats for shipping. Seems fishy to me. I was super disappointed…really wanted to get this boat. Now it’ll likely be a Zegul Reval.

What are the main differences between Ask and Bylgja?

Ask and Embla represent a new design approach and hull shape - compact, agile and responsive with maneuverability and great surf characteristics. In comparison more rocker, more volume in the bow for buoyancy, double hart chine construction for distinct and very solid secondary stability. But personal preferences are decisive, so test rowing is so much better than words.

I have paddled Embla 1 year and i am super happy with it. Easy to roll and great for paddling in waves.
