In this episode we visit Manhattan Indian Flavors in the heart of New York City. The menu is huge and they have both North and South Indian food!! Of course we chose both getting some South Indian street food and North Indian curries!! The food was delicious and we definitely think this is Indian food worth stopping for!! As always, we hope you enjoy our Indian food reaction!!

You will just find endless street food. Also try the restraunts, the desserts, check out a Bollywood movie. What states are you gonna check out? If your gonna head over to kerala, you need to go on the boat ride (backwaters, with a cook inside), Jatayu (bird statue), huge Shiva sculpture, kovalum beach, Athirapally waterfalls(from the movie baahibali). Try porotta and chili beef (its very spicy), Kerala Fish Curry (the deep red color one, spicy), the Biryani(chicken and mutton), Check out the area vasco da gamma set foot, check out the historic churches, check out the st.thomas churches and areas, the forts from the dutch and danes and others. Oh and check out some bollywood movies before you head over (like netflix or prime)..

The golden whitish seeds on the pakora are coriander seeds. Coriander leaves are better known in the US as Cilantro. The coriander powder is also used in meat curries as a flavoring and as a thickening agent for the curry sauce. Pan toasting them to be used whole or ground into a powder changes the flavor quite a bit.

You are absolutely correct about the rice "stretching out" the sauce. It also helps reduce the chili heat by spreading it out over the rice. You guys are doing great with the eating with your hands. I don't know if it was ever mentioned to you, but use a bit of suction as you shove the rice into your mouth with your thumb. Not so much suction that you end up with rice in your lungs ("Eeep!"), but enough to show the rice the way into your mouth. 😉

fr😋😋ied items like pakoras , samosas and kachoris are eaten with a mix of tamarind chutney and mint chutney. mix both the chutneys and dip the pakoras in them. It gives a yummy sweet - chili flavour. That is the reason why tamarind and mint chutneys are served with the savories mentioned above. Give it a try next time 😋😋

Do pyaza (do means 2 and pyaaz is Onion) is named so because they use onion 2 ways. Once while making the gravy and second time just before finishing the dish but it's cut so that it's petals separate.Thats why it's so so prominent, and yes it's gives sweetness
