North Bali, Walking Tour of Nungnung Waterfall and Ulun Danu Beratan Temple | Vlog #8

The second day of our trip around Bali was probably the best of all! The weather was perfect: sunny but not too warm with a cool breeze when we reached the mountains. We also loved the places we visited.
Early in the morning we headed to Nungnung Waterfall. Indonesia and Bali in particular are famous for their waterfalls and it was Uli's dream to visit as many as possible. Nungnung Waterfall did not disappoint - giant in height and powerful in nature, it mesmerized us with its strength, calming sound of flowing water and the magical mist that filled the waterfall canyon. The morning sun lit the spiraling droplets into thousands of falling fireflies. Refreshing and mystical, at least before we hit the steep stairs to climb back to the parking lot!
We followed the water trail up the mountains and just before noon we arrived at the biggest water temple on Bali - Ulun Danu Beratan*. The temple doesn't rank high among international tourist guides but this huge garden and temple complex attracts dozens of local tourists. We also highly recommend it! The temples are small in size but beautifully decorated and the location on the coast of the lake surrounded by mountains provides a unique setting that completes the scene. A truly mystical place to learn more about the importance of water for the local peoples and the cultivation of rice, and a great spot for a sunny stroll with your beloved ones. It was a truly perfect morning!

* In this and the next video, we accidentally spelled the temple as 'Ulan' instead of 'Ulun'. We will be more careful next time! 😊
