Alrosa Villa, a venue some people consider to be a historic staple in north Columbus, is about to be torn down for affordable housing.

Ugh. One event doesn’t make it a negative place. Obviously, as you’re reporting many people have great memories and feel positive about the place, in spite of the 2004 tragedy.

It still was the ruin of AV, I played there many times, saw many great shows, but that murder was the downfall of this great venue

@@nasticanasta yeah. I only went there once afterwards. It wasn’t the same. I hope the bands who played there continue to have a platform here in Cbus.

Ok I'm not trying to be mean... but news people get your facts straight. We were not closed for a few years. Last show was last March. Covid shut it down.. We had a bunch of sold out shows falling after that. That couldn't happen as the industry shut down....And sweet guy in the interview the rock will have a good home. As will the other special things. I have the dressing room mirror in my living room now about to be mounted tomorrow. All the mirrors in the dressing room are safe. ❤ I'm glad it means so much to everyone as it does to me . ❤. Much love

Is the building still up? Or has it been torn down already?

I saw Toots and the Maytals play there. Magical. Of course leave it to Columbus city officials to level everything of any historical value, meaning, or function and replace it with a parking lot.

There were some great local and national bands that played there. Lotta fond memories of seeing Warrant. LA Guns. Jason Bonham Band, and many others. Truth be told, it started going downhill yrs before the Damageplan tragedy. They rented it out on the weekends for crappy rap and dance parties as Studio 69 I think it was. Thats about when it started waning. Just like the rest of the north side. Maybe besides bulldozing it, they should level the whole Morse Rd and 161 corridor and make it a giant park and ride for COTA

This Ohio small town rock -a- holic played his first "Columbus Gig" at the Alrosa Villa back in 1988!!! I spent a short 5 years in Columbus playing in a band and spent a fair amount of weekends at the Alrosa before moving away - such a shame to see it go. It was truly a great rock & roll venue. RIP Dime and RIP Alrosa Villa.

Grew up within 5 minutes of this place. Like alot of others alot of good memories of just not music and a place to hang out. Majority of this area is light business/industry and putting low income housing here I have a feeling with not go over well here . Really hope someone steps up and can save alot of signs and other items before this is leveled.

I’m born and raised here in Ohio and I’ve been to many concerts there. I only live about an hour from Al Rosa villa and It was a cool place to see shows. Still can’t believe what happened to dimebag. It would be so cool if that rock would find a home near by so that fans can honor him around here or it would be cool if it would be taken to his grave in Texas. R.I.P. Dimebag 🙏🏼✌🏼🤘🏼

@@thomasautonomousanonymous2050 As a matter of fact yes. Absolutely. Yes people who have done something with their lives and make more money and actually pay taxes are most certain;y more deserving of good housing than the dead beats of this world, who often vote for a living , rather than working for a living.

Ezekiel 14:6 KJV - Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Repent, and turn yourselves from your idols; and turn away your faces from all your abominations. As many people need Places to stay, and yet A famous heathen died at this spot and is in Eternal Torment, he served his purpose. We always know a person by their fruit or works Deuteronomy 31:29 KJV - For I know that after my death ye will utterly corrupt yourselves, and turn aside from the way which I have commanded you; and evil will befall you in the latter days; because ye will do evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger through the work of your hands. Matthew 7:17 KJV - Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
