Young Aussie here who just did this in January this year. Thank you so much tigit for mapping this route out. Everytime I didn't use the tigit route it was average haha. I didn't see a westerner until I got to the north in Meo Vac/north area. Even the ha Giang route you guys recommend had little to no tourists. It is very cold by the way! I was in boardies and a jumper until bao lac (it started raining). Managed to get a place to stay and rough the freezing cold to meo vac market (thanks to your other video) Well done to tigit and the team, I had a trip of a lifetime. Thankyou tigit hanoi, bloke deserves a raise

All very interesting as I have recently, now six months ago, returned from a 5000kms return trip to N Vietnam from my home in NE Thailand. One annoying thing, can you mount your camera on your helmet, looking through the bike screen spoils the fantastic views.

Not really. The distances / coverage I do in a day, I keep a very light helmet. Camera weighs it down :D In the end, these trips are very, very rushed. With one objective, to cover as much tarmac as possible to decide the "best route". I wish I was a normal traveler, not a guy in a rush.

I am planning to come to Hanoi with my GF third week of March and rent a CB500 from you, riding 2up. I am thinking about a 8-10 day Northern loop from Hanoi. Average weather looks good then with warmer days and minimal rain. Would you agree? What itinerary would you recommend for 8-10 days? Cheers
@Tigitmotorbikes Жыл бұрын
October is the best time to travel the North. March is a little on the early side. But in the end, the weather is unpredictable, you can't really plan for it. Follow my video "everything you need to know about the North". You can do the North East and Ha Giang. No need to do the North West

@@Tigitmotorbikes thanks for responding. I'm going to reconsider either mid April just after Easter or mid October to come for the better weather 👍

Are you (Did you) take DT217 from Bao Lac to HG, via Bamboo ferry? I tried that road from Meo Vac, but I lost the trail ...
@Tigitmotorbikes2 жыл бұрын
Yves says the route is not appropriate for adventure bikes. So we skipped it. But I think with a Honda XR 150 it would be great.

@@Tigitmotorbikes Maybe the CB500x would exceed the GVW of the ferry 😂

As it has been raining the past few days, it might be too slippery with adventures bike. From Meo Vac, the landscapes are amazing, small path on the right side, not easy to find...

@@ydub1774 I think I had found it when I was there last year - kind of goes in front of a school, then behind some houses? I bottled out at that point. But the left fork that goes down to another village and the river was beautiful!

were those locusts making all that noise?!?!?!

Yes, and in the video edit I had to try and find a way to make them quieter. Because they were louder than the talking ^

@@Tigitmotorbikes The video was fine as is imo! I was just amazed at the nature sound as most videos don't really showcase it! Very cool
