Yeonmi Park, who defected from North Korea, talks to Schulz on Flagrant about what it's like to live in North Korea, Kim Jong Un's pleasure squad harem, the prevelance of propaganda, and why China is still propping up the brutally oppressive regime.
Flagrant is a comedy show that delivers unfiltered, unapologetic, and unruly hot takes directly to your dome piece. In an era dictated by political correctness, hosts Andrew Schulz and Akaash Singh, along with AlexxMedia and Mark Gagnon, could care less about sensitivities. If it’s funny and flagrant it flies. If you are sensitive this podcast is not for you. But if you miss the days of comedians actually being funny instead of preaching to a choir then welcome to The Flagrancy.

Just by coincidence I saw a short clip of a family trying to run into the Japanese consulate. The 2 males made it, but the women and 2 year old girl got grabbed by guards after getting just past the gate. Great clip and Andrew's point at 8:27 about " it seems like as long as we're getting something from them or we need something from them that we just kind of look the other way with the Civil Rights situation" - yeah sadly this is a truth about humanity in general and it's a big part of why it took so long to end slavery or how any other atrocities happen or even homelessness and other poverty: if you don't see it affecting you and your family personally every day - then it's really easy for the brain to just ignore it - it takes a conscious effort and work and commitment to values and willingness to put in your own time, effort, and resources to actually effect those things, and that's sadly too high a price for most people, especially those that are just barely getting by in society to begin with. When we look back at history and are dumbfounded by how people could have let slavery or the holocaust or anything else happen - well, it's exactly the same way we all let horrible things happen today, we all look the other way b/c we don't want to make ourselves a target or risk instability in our own lives. Hopefully one day we'll mature enough as a species where we don't do that anymore, but it sure as hell won't be in my lifetime unfortunately.

End slavery? Blacks still enslave blacks to this day in Africa. Slavery is completely different. Soon as blacks understand that they themselves are the problem that's when their situation would completely change. Soon as they understand that the biggest killer of black men is other black men. No cops no white guys. Soon as they come together to get a better situation they will be as good as anyone. The problem is they will get mad about white cops shooting an ARMED man or 1 or 2 killings. When In 1 city in America Chicago black kids kills more Black kids in 1 weekend than all cops combined. The problem is they hate to see one of thier brothers doing better and ask for advice or how to work hard for something. They just wanna go take what you got. That's why the diamond mines in Sierra Leon are stronger blacks enslaving other weaker blacks just like when whites came and bought them on the coast. Never did any white guys go to Africa and go hunting the land for slaves. North Korea is a terrible person in charge of making his entire population starve to death. North Koreans got it worse than any slaves in America had it.
@colonelb
@colonelb Жыл бұрын
@@ScottProductions843 Oh absolutely. Being horrible to each other is a centuries old human universal. And here's a thought I've had, if the situation had played out the opposite way - had africans had superior weapons and built ships, sailed to euope and the americas, bought whites, and brought them back to africa so that the transatlantic slave trade went the other direction, and had they had the opportunity to do so, would they have? And my vote is "of course they would", because it's not about one race is morally superior than the other, it's just luck of the draw how the cards were dealt who invented ships and guns first. Something to think about Cheers

Then in another one she said that after escaping prison her father was brought back with them to china and died there. I'm not saying shes making up everything. But some stories are not accurate. Or maybe experiencing all this caused her some trauma respone and she forgot about actual events.

Ok gonna be long but Important distinction. Otto Warmbeir (think I spelled that right) was not arrested for going to the wrong floor. He went to the wrong floor and proceeded to steal a regime propaganda poster out of a picture frame on a wall. Not saying the guy did something crazy or deserved whatever exactly happened to him there but did he think it would go over well stealing a poster associated with the dear leader when you get screamed at for not kneeling while you even just take a picture of a statue of the dear leader? It's also a crime or at least considered extremely disrespectful if you don't get the entire statue from head to toe in frame. The guards actually look at your phone or in your camera lens to make sure the statue is in full frame before they let you take the picture. Or make you erase it and take another until they find it acceptable. So stealing a poster .... And being an American doing it? Just stupid. Sad story but so so stupid. Right in front of a camera no less. Also I'm surprised she didn't say this ... North Korea doesn't hate us because of our liberty. Our government tried to shove that lie down our throats about that's why we were attacked on 9/11 because they hated how we represented freedom. Like Canada or Australia or most countries in Europe don't have any freedom. The US came in 12th when it came to countries with the most civil liberties and least amount of laws. We imprison more people than China. Why weren't any of these other free countries attacked? It's because they don't have military bases in their holy land. We do. They don't prop up dictatorships in the middle east. We do. They don't support Israel and it's genocide of the Palestinian people. We do. That's why bin laden hated us. But no the news had to say every 5 minutes no they hate us because we can listen to music or watch what we want or wear what we want. Lies. The north Koreans don't hate us because of our freedom. I'm sure they don't like it but they hate us because they blame us for the split between north and south Korea and getting involved( once again) in a war that we didn't need to be in. North Korean propaganda always depicts Americans as soldiers torturing Korean babies and women. The north Korean regime also blame the Korean war for every hardship they face from famine to disease it's all America's fault. They split up our nation. The Korean war never officially ended. I believe it's just been a decades long ceasefire. So they very much blame us and hate us for that. Not that you can wear a bikini or say your president sucks. My grandpa fought there. He said people in south Korea threw roses at their feet. Were so grateful for our help but on the other side of the border, yeah, we ain't welcome.

So living in upper middle class in North Korea is like being poor everywhere else. I am guessing average people there are basically homeless. I grew up in a village in Eastern Europe and we were poor but we had water(once a week we could go in bath, other wise it would be too expensive) and we had electricity and we had cars and bikes. Used old ones but they worked. I am guessing in North Korea my family would be considered wealthy.

Exactly, and it spreads to anyone in America that disagrees with her politically. Like come the fudge on, people will call her a liar because she doesn’t like America 100% she’s telling the truth and the truth hurts sometimes. Everything today is about $$$. I’m sure even Yeonmi has been impacted by Western Society because we can see as people joke about her boobs and the work she’s had done, people are just ignorant and unkind, I’ve been watching her for maybe 4 years, and no one is helping anyone

I don't think those are fake, she has a history of stories that are outright inconsistent. Alongside profiting from extreme right-wing supporters. That being said, she's still brave as hell for what she did but there's no denying she's been going on a direction from extreme to an another extreme.
