The tough part of gourmands is that they generally smell like things that you like, but do you want to smell like those things. Especially when they are kind of sweet. I love the scent and bought the set. The kicker was my family all thought it rocked. Enjoy the weekend.

@@stevem1563 morning Steve! Couldn't agree more, my girls love gourmands but I asked them last weekend "if a man (me) should smell like these things". The answer was no, the conversation led to candles and those type of things. I definitely use them, my reservation with Gourmands is the "wearability" of them and then on what occasions. I'm reviewing Carter today for Strike Gold, essentially it's a Peanut Chocolate gourmand. So the topic of Gourmands has come up a few times this week in the house. Have a good one Steve!

That's a good woman to have, I learned the hard way to wait for Tobin's reviews. Bought a set once and two days later he did his video. From the way Tobin described it I knew I wouldn't like it, and I didn't 😅

i agree! she absolutely loves briar which kind of has a mapply scent to it, so when i told her the new set was maple forward (based on the notes) the deal was done. 😂

Loved the intro graphic -- and the spot about the "The Love Scale" was a great touch. Your description really helped me get a sense of what to expect, which I genuinely appreciate, especially with complex scents like this one. But what I appreciate the most is your honesty. Nice! It's close to a direct hit for me, but they went the Chai direction and not the Thai. Thai has cardamon and star anise, with some other spices and I love Thai Tea. I'm sure I'd like this one too and I have to say that some awesome scents have come from the advent calendar. It makes me wonder what new scents they will be test running in the calendar this year. I hear you and I could go on a rant myself today-lol! I tire of all the fussy baby things that we have to endure these days! Hahaha! Have a great weekend brother!

Great review. For me with most gourmand scents I find them more enjoyable during the shave or if I’m just going to bed afterwards I’ll apply the matching aftershave otherwise I’ll apply something else I enjoy to smell for the rest of the day.

Thanks Manny! I like that approach, I do something kind of similar or the same thing. When I know I'll be hanging out at home with the girls I'll use them I don't think I've ever used a Gorman soap though and then tried something else on top I'll have to give that a go. Have a good one Manny!

You are correct, Tobin. It is due to the vanilla and how exposure to oxygen causes it to oxidising. For anybody who is concerned by that, this is not a flaw or anything that negatively affects the scent or soap.

A guy on FB had thrown a dig at my Dodger hat from my last video and me "all of a sudden being a LA fan" insinuating that I was on the bandwagon, it popped into my mind when I was wrapping up the video lol Just because I wear a teams hat doesn't necessarily mean or not mean I'm a fan of that team 😉 sometimes it's just "political motivation".
