I got a light grey suede strap for my Nomos Orion in the summer. £50 from Nomos so great value but the light grey was a dirt magnet and it got grubby very quickly so I dyed it a dark grey and much prefer it now. If you want to return the Tudor strap close to new, get some Saphire Smooth Leather Lotion. This stuff is amazing on shoes, belt, watch straps and even the wife’s handbags. Leaves a nice natural finish.👍

I have 6 The Strap Tailor straps, Goat, Ostrich, Calf and Suede. All different colours and all custom made. I have 8 inch wrists. More than happy. My Speedy has 21mm lugs and I have it on a rich brown Calf. It gets worn quite a lot.

Really like that strap tailor strap.. nice work. I wonder if a dark navy with red underside and stitching would look good. Enjoyed this one quite a lot! I really like the CrafterBlue rubber strap on my TudorGMT. I have the dark navy with red interior. I have the same strap in black only on my Tudor reverse panda. Super comfortable there in the Arizona desert.

I always get surprised when I see prices of leather straps. 130$ us surely is my upper edge. The grey suede looks great.

You have to take into account the purchase of materials, msn hours and profit margins for handmade straps. People don’t mind spending $4 on a coffee when the whole sack of beans probably costs $10

I ordered a new custom strap from David (strap tailor) last week and cant wait for it. I’d have gone dark blue and red on your gmt and had it with a vintage distressed finish to maintain the original vibe of this watch. Good thing about David is that he provides exceptionally wide options and he is great to chat through options with.

Hi Andy, I started my watch journey about 3 years ago (possibly similar to many of your views), but now having more knowledge I am starting refresh my collection - especially those early impulse buys or ones that I just don’t wear. Nearly all watch KZbin clips talk about the buying experience or review watches (which one to buy), but the selling-side (not the price but the process - trade in, sold of commission, or chrono-24 etc) rarely gets a mention. I note a few comments in previous clips as to whether one of your watches is a “keeper” or not. What are your experiences and advice when it’s time to sell?

Stephen - I have only sold one watch previously. Used Chrono24 about 2 years ago. The process was pretty straight forward, just stick to the rules they lay down. The only little anxiety is waiting for the money to transfer across. The buyer needs to receive the watch and confirm back to Chrono24 that all is good. I think maybe the eBay method could be a slight improvement in that the buyer can’t deny a watch has been sent and is as described. I’m leaning towards selling one of my pieces again and thinking of the best platform. Definitely not Facebook.

Great video and very nice straps Andy. To be honest I love my Tudor GMT with the bracelet and until now it's the only one that I have wear. In my "speedy" I also wear the original bracelet and a black Nato strap. Later I will see if I decide to try a leather one, the truth is that they look very good but in the case of the GMT I prefer the original Tudor brown leather strap than the black one. I thought the black and red strap would look good on the speedy, although my favourite straps are cordovan. Maybe the Tudor isn't 20mm.

Hi great video , hand made straps are I think, are good for more expensive watches . But for more affordable watches Amazon has pretty good straps definitely better value for your money.

This suede North St. strap looks great on the Speedmaster. I have quick release on a couple of aftermarket straps and always feel the bars are not long enough to safely fasten both sides to the watch head. Anyone had unfortunate experience with that kind of mechanism ?

These ones are very secure. I haven’t had that problem before. I guess there will be inferior parts out there.

Hi Andy, given the time of the year - it would be interesting to hear your predictions for 2022 - especially your thoughts on what omega might be considering for the year ahead. Are we likely to see another speedmaster 321 option emerge?

My money is on a new First Omega in Space with 3861 movement. Not sure about mainstream 321 models. Maybe another in precious metal. The Chronoscope was a little left field. New Planet Ocean with easy bracelet removal like the Americas Cup chrono.

In all fairness I think the gmt Tudor is to high on the wrist for any strap , Tudor could really do with thinning it out a couple of mm , this would I feel advance their popularity greatly.

They all have different tapers, worth checking the website for precise measurements as it depends what lug width you are looking for.
