Florida voter here. We use paper ballots where I live. Photo ID required. It's not hard, it's not racist, it's not voter suppression. It's called integrity.

When I lived in Florida I got cheated out of voting entirely. I had moved months earlier and changed the info properly. When I went to vote they had no record of me. The woman at the ballot box actually encouraged me to go ahead and vote anyway. Ummmm no thanks; that's a felony. They were *supposed* to be able to call the other location and get the authorization but the phone lines were so backed up that people had been waiting for hours and could not get to vote. I finally had to just leave. lol first and only time a poll worker has encouraged me to vote illegally when they had no record of me on the log. :) what happened IS called voter suppression and is NOT integrity!!

Where I voted in Texas it's done on a machine. It has a touchscreen to make your choices and after you hit final submit it prints off every thing that you choose. Then you take that print out and put it in the ballot box.

Required ID: a voter registration card plus current valid driver's license with picture. They both must match. We have paper ballots that goes into the machine. It can only be put into the machine one way or it will reject the ballot. But double check your ballot before submitting. It's not hard to do nor is it racist in any way.

Everyone should be using a real paper ballot for voting, not a computer. Paper ballots are scanned and tallied, then stored in the same box they are scanned with for security. They are physically available for recount if necessary. Can’t do that with a computer.

The computer is just there so they can go faster and then compare the computer count to the paper count to double check there's no funny business. ALL votes in Texas and 97% nationally are on a paper ballot. What happens is you put your paper ballot into the machine and make your votes, which will then print on your paper ballot your selections. Then you feed your ballot through the reader and it is recorded. The paper ballot goes into the hopper in case you need to do a recount. Some counties have you use a marker to mark your paper ballot, then feed it into the machine. In this story, it is the first type of machine. I believe this person mismarked her ballot and didn't realize it until she looked at the printout. Remember the "butterfly ballot"? It was confusing to some which candidate you got when you selected a certain button.

this happened to my husband a few years ago...accidentally! thank goodness he caught it before he cast his vote. Turns out the touch screen was so sensitive, when his loose jacket sleeve swiped across the screen it changed his vote. thankfully he was able to get someone in charge. All the people in authority came over. he explained what happened and they were able to reset the machine and he was able to vote again. he carefully redid his vote and the people in charge handled everything very carefully and professionally! this happened in Eastern Pennsylvania. 🇺🇸💙👍🙏

I voted on the first day of voting in Arkansas. Just as I was making my last few selections, the power in the building went out. Backup power kicked in and I heard one of the poll workers say they had fifteen minutes to get the current people voting finished before they loose all power. At about that same moment I heard the man next to me complain to a nearby poll worker about the presidential candidate he choosing is not being recorded but instead the opposite candidate is begin highlighted, he told her he has tried five times. (I purposely felt out who he was voting for so not to add more fuel to the fire). Other than loosing power my experience was uneventful.

The machine prints your selections on a paper ballot, which you then take to another machine that scans it, and retains the paper ballot in case a recount is required. There are multiple opportunities to double check and correct your selections before printing them out on your ballot, and another opportunity to check the printed ballot, and redo it if necessary, before turning it in.

I don't understand how that can work? Paper ballots for early voting Here in Illinois it takes a bit of time to black out boxes. When a machine takes a ballot , if something is wrong it won't take it.

Early voting in Texas is not done by hand. You put your ballot in a machine, make your choices, then it prints out and you take it and put it in another machine.

There was one case in GA that made national news but when it was immediately corrected it was the voters error but taken care of while the voter was still at polls. But we didn’t hear the loudest mouth pushing the case apologize and correct her statement to reflect the facts. If it was widespread I would be more alarmed but this has always happened, a handful in the millions of votes cast doesn’t sway the election.

I have a degree in Computer Science. In the first semester you learn to write a program that could be used as a voting program. You take inputs, store them, sort them, then output the result(s). You can get the wrong result by accident or you can manipulate the program to produce the wrong result. Nobody has any idea if someone in the voting machine companies is doing this.

I have volunteered in the past to manage voting centers, for a small stipend, it was really about doing my duty more than anything else. At the end of the voting night, my wife and I were apalled at the HUGE amount of red bags filled with votes left on the ground outside of post office night drop boxes. There wasnt enough room to hold them so people running other voting stations just threw their bags at the base of the postal containers and drove off. I spent the night in my car until 6 a.m. protecting the votes. Please! Please! Keep an eye on the night time collection boxes at your local post offices. Please contact your local post master to make sure these boxes are emptied completely of normal mail before voting day. Thank you America! God bless you.
