13kts?!? That is pretty crazy, I'd be at the mercy of the current! You need to make videos more often! 😉

It was about 9 knots when I passed the narrows, and then it mellows out a lil bit once you're past as the current was still going to get stronger I do need to make more vids! Lately I have been focusing on work and now filming much but we're just starting sailing season

just chose and follow the currents as they suite. trop bien!

Thank you for the video Patricia, it was wonderful like always. I hope you are staying warm and dry. It was nice meeting you and Winter a couple weeks ago. I hope we can get our sister boats together sometime this summer for a cruise.

@@sailingokasolo6801 I am in Pender Harbour until the weather clears. Then heading to Texada for a few days. I spoke with the boat yard, and they just hauled out another Endurance 35. So when you bring your boat on the hard, they will know exactly what to do.

Olivier.

Hi, great to see you, for some reason missed your past few vids. Your hair looks great, also great to see Winter doing well after the incident, give her a belly scratch for me. Guess your still working to not be sailing a warmer climate. Few hazards in those waters. ⛵💜
@sailingokasolo68016 ай бұрын
Thanks, Im so glad she got away relatively unscathed...Yeah eventually we will make it to warmer places. Have been working lots but just ordered material to make new chainplates and later will replace the standing rigging which are the two biggest worries on my list 😊

@@sailingokasolo6801 In-case unaware, Rigging Dr. is doing vids on replacing his plates atm. Internals to externals = kzbin.info/www/bejne/aKW9Zn-LYruUhsUsi=mnbvOqhW1-8LgCiE&t=17 Carbon Fibre = kzbin.info/www/bejne/pYnWgZKHndh7Z80si=QE0RIWBRP-HBa1if&t=10 There's also other references/links in comments. He also has Dyneema Rigging = kzbin.info/www/bejne/d6ucf3eifJh_g8k For peace of mind you could have a mix of both. IMO, for good night sleep, oversize anchor, good scope chain & swivel (prefer SS), drag alarm, are a must. Plenty of vids re this, latest = kzbin.info/www/bejne/jYG8aol7iairf6s Perhaps you could also chase sponsor deals. People love DIY vids, suppliers love getting they're name out there, i.e. TotalBoat for paints, etc.

@@sailingokasolo6801 Hi, my previous reply to you isn't showing, perhaps deleted due to having a youtube link. It was regarding Rigging Doctor currently doing his chain plates, making them from carbon fibre, locating them externally from leaky internal. Plus using dyneema rather than ss rigging. Reason for this mesg, just watched a doco Winter & yourself might enjoy, re the training of Dog (what they called him) in Mad Max 2 (Road Warrior), called "History of DOG from Mad Max 2"🐶

Definitely will have to look at that documentary as i am both a fan of the movie and dog training, ive always loved the rigging doctor but havent seen any recent videos sounds like I should!

Not going back, I have been Captain of a tug with a 100ft barge with a crane rig, buildng and installing docks, ramps, moorings etc learning lots and becoming a better skipper and operator bringing the barge in tight shallows spots

The scary thing is there used to be a huge rock in that area, called Ripple Rock which sunk several ships passing through. Blowing it up was a major engineering challenge, which is presently in the record books.
