This section kept getting prettier and prettier after the burn area and the closer I got to Sierra City. After Sierra City heading south was really gorgeous.

Loved this video! That first bridge is my favorite fishing creek. Desolation is my local spot. So cool to see you enjoy these locations! Excited for your trip to Yosemite.

I really appreciate and enjoy your videos. I hope you can find water once you start getting into southern California. I live near the southern terminus so I'm hoping to do the PCT in 2026 SOBO so I'll essentially be walking home.

Thanks for watching! Surprisingly, there were quite a few long, waterless stretches in parts of Northern California. So I guess I'm training for the rest of the trail.

This video is outstanding. Ive seen so many PCT videos and generally speaking its alot of trail and scenery. Love the community aspect you show here. With out the Angels and fellow hikers I dont know if I would wanna do this trail.

❤this video update! Amazing views blew me away especially the 25 mile wilderness stretch! I don’t know how you hiked through all those weeds and bushes in Northern California, I would have been itching the whole way 😂

The overgrown brush in Northern California was no joke. I still have a few scars on my legs from that section.

I love Desolation Wilderness. Its changed so much since 1971 on my first trip with my brother at 19 yrs old. Much easier times. No permits just go. Very few hikers

And last year, there was a new regulation put in effect for this area. Hard sided bear canisters are required if you plan on camping anywhere in this section. Since my bear can was waiting for me at Kennedy Meadows North (about 100 miles away), I had to hike through this section in one day, camping just outside of the boundary.
@xGorexGirlx Жыл бұрын
@@TheHungryHiker yep that was a year ago last July that bear canisters are needed.
@TheHungryHiker Жыл бұрын
@@xGorexGirlx And I can see why that regulation was put into place. This is an extremely popular area and the bears are VERY active here. This is a regulation I fully support. Protect the bears!

I was just thinking about you since we haven't had an update in awhile. Excellent video as always! I especially like that you insert location references along the way (mm would be a bonus!). I'm curious how you are liking the Mariposa 60? I am seriously thinking about trading my Gregory Diva for it since there is about a 3lb difference. Perhaps you'll do an after hike review of your equipment? Cheers 🙂!
@TheHungryHiker Жыл бұрын
Thank and glad you enjoyed the video! I have been LOVING my Mariposa 60 out on trail this year. I'll be putting together a follow-up video once I finish my hike featuring all the gear I used, talking about what what worked and didn't work for me out here this year so stay tuned for that.

Are there mile post markers in the PCT
@TheHungryHiker Жыл бұрын
Not really. At least nothing really official. I use the FarOut Guide app when on the PCT to keep track of my mileage and waypoints. Every now and then, I would see a mileage marker made from rocks, sticks or pine cones, indicating the mileage number of the trail. These are usually created by other hikers each season.
