I grew up in Belfast. We went on holiday to the North Coast every summer of my childhood. It was also where you went on school trips. As a result I’ve probably been to the Giant’s Causeway more than 50 times. It’s always interesting to see it through the eyes of people who haven’t seen it before. I totally agree that the coastal drive is a properly great route. Not for the faint of heart though. THe Black Taxi tours are a total tourist trap though. Half of what you are told is pure fantasy. Great video.

Lovely. I would also recommend Mourne Mountains where I believe GOT was filmed, Enniskillen and certainly Donegal - home of one of the most beautiful wee beaches in the world. For such a small area of the world it's hard to pack so much in.

@@matthewhowell5501 I get that. I get they're separate technically since one is part of the UK and one isn't. I just was saying "ireland" in general because I'd like to visit the entirety of it one day and just didn't bother specifying through text to save time I suppose.

hi, great video! me and my wife will visit northern ireland on the end of april. Can you recommend where to rent a car? and can we do the giant causeway route in one day? thanks and more power

Our rental car was from Enterprise at the airport. We picked it up when we landed. The Causeway coast can be done in one day but it will be fast. There are a bunch of stops along the coast, so it could take days. From Belfast drive North and you can stop at The Gobbins walk (which could take some time) so it depends on how much of it you want to see. Then there is a quick stop at the Glenarm Castle and the next stop is Cushenden Caves. (that would be a day for me) so if you want to skip directly the mains sites, the portion of this video starts here. up at the top is the Carrick a Rede Bridge, then Ballentoy Harbour Giant's Causeway, Bushmills Distillery, Mussenden Temple. (I think the top can be done in a day) If you go quickly to the dark hedges for sunrise. Then make your way to Carrick a Rede in the morning, head to Ballentoy Harbour, then drive to Dunluce Castle and Mussenden Temple. If you still have some time, pop into Bushmills and then end the day at sunset at Giant's Causeway. You'll want to spend some time here. I'd recommend staying at the Causeway Hotel too. Here's a link for Causeway coast planning. www.ireland.com/en-ca/articles/tripideas/causeway-coastal-route/
