I got into Northern Soul in my teens, I'm now 56. I used live near London and would get the coach up North to various venues and dance the night away. I had a family in my late 20's and stopped going to allnighters, anyways I moved up to Derbyshire in 2014 and its fab cause I hear so many tracks from my youth being played at work Christmas do's, friends parties etc..On my 50th the DJ was asked to play some Northern Soul for me, I could of cried and my muscle memory didn't let me down although a bit rusty. My knees were shocking the next day. I've loved watching this, and can't wait until my exodus to Twinwood Festival 'Rona permitting' so I can get my yearly fix of Northern Soul in the Soul Shack.

EXACTLY! isolation has caused me to appreciate the Lindy Hop, its rhythmic style and its social friendships. After a night of dancing through my household shores, I lay down with a dreamlike smile and the satisfaction that dance provides. Aw... yes! Levanna, I feel your joy!

Brings back some memories, lacing my shoes up and filling my Adidas bag with a few shirts, can of Brut and a towel. Heading down to the station for the train into Wigan North Western, and the walk up to the casino.

This was lovely! I think that if bikes and running and an hour of exercising is allowed then northern soul dancing should be allowed and if you went out and distanced with camera following you that would be the best gift for all of us at home. I’m very old and remember the joy of dancing in front of mirror at home in the 1960’s and would love to see you dancing on the road, early in the morning! Thank you for lifting my soul!

@Les Rees I was born outside Buffalo, New York, started college outside NYC in 1974, did some Army training in South Carolina, some more in Augusta, Georgia, got married and moved to Colorado Springs, CO, got divorced and moved outside of Tampa, FL, met an Austrian man and live in Vienna now😂 I have never heard of Northern Soul though. Is this a British thing? Whatever it is I love it and Lev's dancing!

Our love for soul music ..... often obscure stuff that was never given a chance of airtime in the US. Brits were idolizing the music whilst Americans still had segregation issues.

Nice stairs. To make them anti slip. Wash and dry fine sand. Add a small amount to paint. Either paint the whole tread, or can put masking tape down each side to mimic a stair runner and paint in between them. I don't slip on mine anymore :-) Fab video, love the music, energy and the sepia tone.

Very inventive video Levanna and some very fine sounds to be heard including the magnificent "Soul Time" & "Ripe for the Picking" but others will have their favourites. The part I liked best was at the end with you leaving the house and then turning round and walking straight back in!
