I see some people don't like seeing normal working people enjoying themselves and they complain about the Jocelyn Brown song not being Northern Soul. Sorry ..but I am 76 and live down south ..and don't pretend to know everything about Northern Soul. ..but still love the Northern Soul scene and I just added Jocelyn Brown song because I think it would have gone down well on the dancefloors. Whenever I watch any Northern Soul dancers I think it seems quite a lonely type of dancing. They dance on their own don’t appear to interact with other people whilst dancing, very insular. It honestly makes me feel sad. They might as well be just dancing in a room with nobody else there. I’ve never attempted to dance this type of dancing. When I used to go out dancing I’d always be dancing with at least one person but usually 2 or 3 facing each other. We’d laugh and joke as we danced sometimes copying each other.
