It matters, just not very much. If the competitive aspect of the show contributes more than about 10% of the total entertainment value, it has failed.

@@DavidOakesMusic There's definitely editing trickery in play with WILTY, especially since there are loads of stories cut out of the final broadcast that don't count towards the scores when edited.. How can he possibly know the final score pre-edit?

I feel like every time a comedian talks about something being 'middle class' he probably means the upper 20% of the population
@AdrianColley
@AdrianColley 3 жыл бұрын
In the UK, "middle class" means a rich commoner (i.e. not nobility, royalty, nor needing to work for income). In the US, "middle class" means that your name is on a sign at your desk (i.e. not on the building, nor on your person).
@SuLokify
@SuLokify 3 жыл бұрын
Middle class means between working class and ruling class. If you're working for a wage, and need that to live, you're working class. If your survival, property, etc, are things you don't even need to consider because they're guaranteed by your social position no matter what you do, you're upper class. Middle class is somewhere in between - if your livelihood is provided for by owning a business, or land, or family wealth, etc, you are middle class. A doctor or lawyer is not necessarily middle class, but many own their own practice and so would fit into that category.

Oh, Josh... the tea bag saucer is there to let the tea bag cool down before you put it in the bin. If you put it in the bin while it's still hot from the boiling water you just poured on it, it'll melt a hole through the bin liner inside the bin. You're welcome.

The North-South Divide is the Humber-Severn Line (You know, that part of Britain that folded early against the Romans as opposed to those who had a bit of backbone, grit, and strength of character). Grimsby is therefore in the South.

I always thought it was the tees-exe line. Geographically divides the lowland from the highland. I consider Cornwall to be VERY northern. The line also conveniently seperates those who stood and fought (and died) because in the lowland there was nowhere to hide, and those who hid in the mountains.

It's more of a cultural divide in my view. That's why Sheffield is in the North but the minute you pass over the city bounds and into the Peak District, you're in the Midlands.
