Glowing Hour Glass *can* let you kill Esau without without being the lost. Step 1: Kill Esau Step 2: Immediately go to another room before the explosion turns you into the lost Step 3: Wait until the explosion hits you and you do become the lost Step 4: Use the hour glass That puts you back in the previous room, not in lost form, with Esau dead for the floor.

man this run felt like a movie. DONT READ BEFORE WATCHING, but started with good bit about his throat being a cave, standard isaac stuff. no damage upgrades. slow tragic death as we reach closer to the inevitable tipping point where 3.5 damage isnt going to cut it any more. glowing hourglass creates hope, but ultimately egg makes a truly pogged play with the 5 room and forget me now. planetarium clutch from the earlier seemingly insignificant 8 ball pickup, crazy item room and topped off with crazy dodging. peep fight had my asshole on lockdown, literally insane dodges in rooms that looked like a league of legends teamfight. good b plot about skill and natural ability, egg rises up to the challenge and owns doubters. talks about how he can make good brain plays and god damn does he prove it. even felt like an interactive movie, 5 mins left in the run and we were still 3 floors away from the end, and i was on the edge of my seat the whole time. will 100% be riding this dopamine high for the next week.

Just for your practical tip of the day that’ll hopefully see some use - Glowing Hourglass is actually a massive boost for your Planetarium chances. If at any point you enter an item room and it happens to be your fifth bad space bar item of the run, use Glowing Hourglass. As far as the game is concerned you never entered the item room, giving you a peek at the item room while boosting your Planetarium odds I’d you’d prefer that instead.

NL has instilled in me an anti-holding R mentality. Had one run where I was at base damage through Isaac and then in the Chest I got Sad Bombs, Death's Touch, and Epic Fetus back-to-back-to-back and easily wiped ??? and Mega Satan. Ya never know when things will turn around!

Other characters have a better survivability so even if it sucks early Its alot more likely to get a turn around later on. Holding R is kinda resin imo because there are so many game changing items and repentance made some changes so runs on average are more skill based than it used to be. TL;DR Good luck have fun :)

I am genuinely so glad you didnt take Ipecac Ipecac + Trisagion is currently horribly bugged due to how Ipecac interacts with other beam-like items and they didnt test that exact combo. So Ipecac+Trisagion ends up having you fire Trisagion beams but they explode almost every frame, including when they are close to you, so you end up getting damaged every time you fire a tear, which well, wouldve ended the run.

Tainted Esau has two different kinds of charge. The short charges he does of his own volition can only go in 8 directions. When he breaks out of Anima Sola he does a long charge directly towards you, that's not limited to the 8 directions

Here's a question. You can't outrun the blast from Esau dying, and you can't just be far enough away from it. WHAT IF you had a situation where you could teleport twice; standing in the starting room, holding Golden Teleport and a Fool card. You kill Esau, instantly use Golden Teleport to put you far away from the starting room, wait a second, and then Fool card back to the starting room. Do you jump over the blast, avoiding becoming the lost? What if you kill Esau and Golden Teleport into an Error room, which isn't on the actual map?
