7 seals pros and cons Pros: - Horses deal constant contact damage if they find a target (two out of five actively chase enemies) - Generate flies that deal double isaac's damage (quadruple if they're death flies) - War flies synegize with most bomb sygernies (Brimstone Bombs, Glitter Bombs, Bomber Boy, NOT Mr. Mega for some reason) Cons: - You MIGHT take damage from the red flies if you're REALLY close to an enemy when it blows up This item was always good, the ONLY thing holding it back was the red locusts. Now that they're tiny and will almost never blow you up, the downside is pratically non existant. I always take it if I can.

"roll the bones" comes from ancient shamanic practices, where they rolled the ankle bones of hoofed animals (a direct precursor to dice) for divination. So yes, they literally did roll bones, egg.

The good thing is that Jacob and Esau are actually relatively good in greed mode. At the very least, they ironically don't struggle too much against the first couple of waves like some other characters do, just by merit of double boy damage weighing in early.

So, looking into the etymology of the term "roll the bones"... Geoffrey Chaucer used the term in "The Pardoner's Tale" in a way to mean "to shoot dice", but the origins go back even further. In antiquity, shamans would use the ankle bones from animals the likes of sheep and oxen as part of their divinations. The use of ankle bones was later co-opted by hunters as a means to decide where to hunt, and then into a game of chance. Bones were used because they didn't require any further tools to shape or use; first evidence of tooled bones appeared in Mesopotamia around 7000 BCE, where archaeologists found bones shaped into cube shapes (the ankle bones had four flat surfaces and two round ones, limiting which faces it could land upon), as well as similar items made from ivory, wood, and whalebone. I learned something today!

I think 7 seals is a really good item, with its only "downside" being the occasional exploding flies. However, as long as you're paying a minimum amount of attention, they are pretty easily avoidable. That being said taking it on stream will most likely lead to your demise, so I'd personally keep it for the youtube videos.

Except when you walk into a room and the fly immediately attacks an enemy that spawns next to you...
