Very true man. I’m glad they still kept some elements like the synths but still added even more EDM which I liked. This is defiantly growing more on me like the TDOPOM from Bad Omens.

This album honestly crawls up a little bit higher in my rankings every time I listen to it. I still think Alien is better, but Obsidian is a pretty logical and badass successor to it!

After another listen, I’ll gladly bump this album to an 8/10 and bump Bad omens up to 8.5/10 since I still liked that one a little bit more. But hey who knows after a few more listens it could be the AOTY. Like I said this one was defiantly a grower which somewhat of a different sound from their last album. I still love how artists can change their sound and experiment and still make it work!🤘 UPDATE: ALRIGHT.. After my third listen... I think production-wise its the same level as Alien. Im REALLY digging this new sound I gotta give this at least 8.5/10 and putting Bad omens back to 8/10. I'm actually liking Obsidian a bit more LOL. AOTY Contender for sure! Unless MIW does something crazy! :o

Yesss, great album! But honestly Alien is the better sound in my opinion. It’s nice that you played the tracks u already heard because there could be people who never heard it yet. I never heard Clockwork until the album, the only ones I heard before the album was Plenty and Carbonized

Yeah man you’re not wrong! I’m hearing a lot of these other metal enthusiasts and gatekeepers shitting on it and not accepting this piece of art for what it is. Like I get it’s not for everyone, but if your not going to accept change then the metal scene isn’t going anywhere!
