This looks amazing, levi’s face looks a bit off, but working on such a small scale that seems unavoidable. A recommendation could be to use push pins for some of the smaller details. i’ve seen various lego minifigure customizers use it for the small painting details

Re: paint brushes getting hooks on the end... a) never leave your brush in your water pot. Clean it, take it out, and leave it in a position where nothing's touching the bristles. Those little brush rests are super useful for this b) when you give them a proper wash at the end of your painting session take a moment to make sure they're all nice and smoothed out and straight, so they don't dry wonky c) 11/10 monke

I generally take good care of my brushes (as far as I know), they never sit in a pot, they're always bristles up, and I try and make sure they're straight when they're drying. Clearly what I'm doing and what I say I'm doing aren't exactly the same, so I'll try and pay a bit more attention to how they dry.

@@NorthoftheBorder KZbin channel Miniac goes over this in one of his brush videos. He said it's a guide hair that forms the tip. Cheaper/lower quality brushes have this issue sometimes. I really like my Raphail Kolinsky 8404 brushes (0 and 1). Pretty dang solid bang for buck brush but kinda pricey. Also B&J Brush cleaner is amazing. Cheap and totally worth it to clean brushes and keeping them fresh and in a great shape. Hope this helps!

Wonderful sculpture, my personal favorite scene as well. It's definitely tricky to get all the motion captured into a still like this. And blood, fluids in general really, are difficult to do right. A tip for fluids is to use fluids with a lower viscosity or surface tension than water to thin out dyes or varnishes to increase small scale realism.

I'm a few weeks late, but some tips to keep your brushes from getting the hook-things on the end: Don't leave your brushes bristles- down in your water cup when rinsing them off, cause then the bristles get pushed sideways! Also, you can wash your brushes with a tiny bit of People Hair Conditioner to keep them soft and sharp. ALSO if your brushes do develop little hook things (which is kind of inevitable if they're small and thin and well-used) you can always just snip those little suckers off and reshape the tips! Even with all these in mind, I would definitely recommend investing in some nice detail brushes, you can get some good ones for fairly inexpensive. You could also use things like toothpicks or those teeny tiny nail art q-tips for the tiniest of details! This was slightly longer than intended hehe, love your videos and keep it up! :-)

As for the explanation of the blood on him, like you mentioned, the titan blood generally evaporates away really quickly. Why it evaporates from his clothes and not his FACE, though, I can't say. Probably a snafu in the continuity, would be my guess, or a deliberate thing to make the scene more dramatic. (This is AMAZING, by the way! I was nerding out so hard while watching this!)

Lmao that description of the show was close to the description that Adult Swim promoted it. I was like “na not interested” but one night “hey bro you wanna watch this!?” So we just finished watching naruto shippuden and the end credits comes and the same description playing on the tv w/ visuals. Luckily enough it was the first episode and we watch through it then the magic happened. Me and my brother were hooked, we literally binged watched the whole season and we wanted more. Note this came out 2013 i think and i just started watching this probably 2015 so i was living under a rock. This was the first anime that i binged watched ever.

I love it, but I have to say the blood was a bit too cartoonish, like way too vibrant red. I would darken it a little next time for added realism. I think in Shingeki no Kyojin the have darker blood as well. Still, amazing job with the miniature Levi, his pose is so dynamic and top-notch
