Hi I just purchased a 2022 350 NX and I set my memory set but once I turn the SUV off and back my seats won’t go to the memory set I programmed. Can you help?

Hi! Two quick questions: 1. When you move the seat around are you hearing any beeping? If the seat does a repeated beep in any of the adjustable positions, it means it did not save the initialization done at the dealership and needs to be reinitialized. Let me know if that's happening and I can explain how to reinitialize it for you or you can take it to your dealership and they can do it in a matter of minutes. 2. Have you linked a key to your driver profile? If not, select one of the keys to be your key, move the other keys at least 20 feet away, resave your driver position memory button with only that key in the car, then on the car go to Settings > confirm your profile is up and open, select Personal Info > Link Key. it will beep and then take a few seconds to turn blue and link the key to the profile. Hope this solves it for you.

Hi Melissa. I often refer to your tutorial for my 2022 NX 450h ... many thank yous. Recently my 12V battery died, causing several inconveniences which I eventually overcame. However, one question remains. Is there a way to manually open the rear hatch when the battery is dead?

Hi! I'm so sorry for the delay. Glad to hear you were able to get the battery taken care of, but that is never fun. There is a manual operation for the rear door latch. If you try this link for the online owner's manual, there is a really good step by step about how to access that latch from inside the vehicle (you will need to manually fold the back seat down so you can reach the latch cover) assets.sia.toyota.com/publications/en/om-s/OM78457U/pdf/OM78457U.pdf if that link doesn't work for you, check the owner's manual around page 638 for what to do if the back door can't be opened. Hi, does that work either the car is on or off? I own a NX 450h+ and with the vehicle on i only can open the rear gate. Can't close it neither the button on rear gate or in the front. The only way to close rear gate while the vehicle is on is by pushing it down. Is this normal??? Thank's

Hi Kenneth, You should be able to close the power back door with the button on the left and the button by the steering wheel, with the NX off or on. The Close & Lock button (the button the right) will only work if the car is off, all other doors are closed & there are no other keys in the car. If your back door will power open, but will not power close at all, then something needs to be reset in the settings. I would connect with your Lexus service department, because those setting are accessed through a computer the technicians use to connect to the vehicle. I hope this helps. Thanks for checking in.

Love your videos! I have had my 2021 Lexus UX for 3 weeks and still learning. I have a few questions I haven’t been able to find in the videos: 1. What mph does the BSM illuminate on the side mirrors? I noticed when I was at a red light that the BSM didn’t show in my mirror. Is it anything above 0 mph? 5-10 mph? 2. Sometimes I leave my car unlocked (we have secured parking at work). My remote start fails sometimes and it seems that maybe there’s a lag between locking the doors and then trying the remote start? I get the notification that the doors are locked but it takes 2 or 3 remote start tries from the app. 3. If my car is in the garage and I try to remote start, will it recognize it is parked inside and not remote start? I only tried once when the garage door was open. It failed but it might’ve been because of question 2. 4. The kick to open the back door … it seems inconsistent. Do all the other doors have to be closed? Can the car be running (in park)? I feel like my kick to open doesn’t work 50% of the time but I’m sure it’s user error. Could the sensor be dirty from snow and dirt? 5. Hi Elizabeth! Thanks so much for your support and your wonderful questions. Hopefully this will get you the answers you need: 1. What mph does the BSM illuminate on the side mirrors? - BSM operates when the car is going over 10mph, so it sounds like you are experiencing exactly that. 2. Sometimes I leave my car unlocked (we have secured parking at work). My remote start fails sometimes and it seems that maybe there’s a lag between locking the doors and then trying the remote start? I get the notification that the doors are locked but it takes 2 or 3 remote start tries from the app.: - Locked doors are required before a remote start command can be completed and the system doesn't do well processing lots of commands in a row if it hasn't had time to refresh the link to the vehicle. If you need to do a lock command, you can then force a refresh of the vehicle status by pulling down from the top of the Lexus app screen. You'll see a spinning circular arrow at the top until the refresh has completed. Then you can give the remote start command and it should be faster. 3. If my car is in the garage and I try to remote start, will it recognize it is parked inside and not remote start? I only tried once when the garage door was open. It failed but it might’ve been because of question 2.: - The car does not know if it is inside or outside, but as long as it is parked, off, locked and has a cell signal to the car and the phone, you can remote start the vehicle. 4. The kick to open the back door … it seems inconsistent. Do all the other doors have to be closed? Can the car be running (in park)? I feel like my kick to open doesn’t work 50% of the time but I’m sure it’s user error. Could the sensor be dirty from snow and dirt? : - According to the Owner's Manual it looks like the Kick Sensor on the 21 UX should be able to be operated even if another door is opened and if the car is on or off. However, I have seen some cars not allow the kick to operate though with open doors, so you many want to triple check that on your vehicle. If you have the smart key with you, aim between the two center rear parking sensors, and just s quick kick and back motion (No need to move side to side, or kick far back under the car. Also, don't hold your foot under the sensor.) Just kick and back and then step back so the sensors know you aren't standing too close, it should operate for you each time. If you have built-up mud or snow that can also block the sensor. 5. Why does the car turn off when you open it after it’s been remote started? Doesn’t that defeat the purpose of remote starting it? - Until the 2022 NX, all Lexus vehicles with Remote Start are designed with an engine immobilizer for safety. It operates like a kill switch and prevents someone else from accessing the vehicle and driving away. Any attempt to enter it will shut it off. All you need to do is apply the brake and push start to restart the car. The purpose of remote start is to warm up the engine for better fuel economy and to warm up or cool off the cabin based on the climate settings that were on when you last drove the vehicle. In the new 2022 NX, then system allows the car to remain on, but you still have to apply the brake and push the start engine button, or you can not shift into Drive. Safety of the driver and passengers is the priority and convenience of making sure you have your key with you before you drive away is next. I hope this helps. A video I’d love to see - describing the noises while driving or idling. This is my first hybrid and I’m not used to the noises. I do watch whether engine or battery is being used but I’m not sure I’d be able to pick up on anything suspect without knowing normal noises - if that makes sense!

@@KickeyDance92 So glad the answers helped. I have a video about hybrid driving tips, but I don't specifically address any sounds. Usually what you may hear is the gas engine turn on or off as needed. Also when you're stopped and put the car in Park, you can hear the electronic emergency/parking brake engage. Some people can hear the motor generators operating and they can sound like a whirring. When you put a hybrid in reverse, there is a sound that is designed to alert pedestrians who may be walking near the vehicle. It only happens with the car is operating on electric power and usually in reverse, but can me heard when moving forward at very low speeds. (Some people say this sound sounds like a spaceship taking off. ;-P That always makes me giggle and I want to ask them how many spaceships they have heard LOL, but I refrain LOL! ) Hope this helps: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pKLdiqSLbLt5mNk

Beginning on many 2018 Lexus models and newer the vehicles were compatible with Apple CarPlay or an available retrofit in some countries. There is no additional app. Android Auto does not have a retrofit available in the US, but was introduced to many Lexus models in 2020. Hope this helps. Thanks for being here.

The 2007 didn't have radar cruise. It may have sonar park assist if you see little quarter size sensors on your bumper. Your training settings are on the left of the steering wheel dash panel. You toggle through them.

Hi Mister Jason, If you are pressing the auto close and lock button and you walk away and it does not close and lock, it could be that the car is running, a key may be inside the vehicle, a door could be open or the key may not be detected by the sensor in the back door to lock the car. Hi! I have discovered that the auto lock power back door won’t work if you haven’t open the rear seat door yet, even when rear seat reminder option is turned OFF. If you didn’t check the rear seat, then it will just beep and won’t close even if you walk away. Do you have any ideas on how to resolve this? You can try testing this. Thank you!!

@@NorthsideLexus Please try opening the back door (by any means) then try pressing the close&lock and walk away. It tends not to close even if I have moved out of the way. Until I open one of the rear door (rear seat reminder turned off) and then I press it again will it close after I walk away. Also, it will close without opening the rear passenger door if you stand 1-2 seconds in front of it before walking away. Very strange and inconsistent.

Hi! I'm sorry for the delay. I haven't been able to duplicate the issue you are describing, but I do know a few details that may help: - If you stay under the back door for more than 30 seconds it will time out until you press the button and walk away. - If you walk away, but not far enough, or you turn back toward the door, the sensors detect the key within in range and the door will either not close or it will stop in place. Any chance those things help? (I'm wondering if when you have stepped away to open a back door, then come back to press the button again, if it is starting fresh and so it works?) Let me know if you have discovered anything on your end.

Hi Steve! Sorry for the delay. There is a customization that allows you to lock the passenger door while the rear door is open. That is in the door lock settings in the Settings Menu on the vehicle. There is a customization to have the passenger doors remain locked when you power open the back door by pressing the Key Fob PBD button, that will be changed through the TechStream tool via computer at your Lexus dealership. Make sure to note that any other method of opening the PBD will unlock all other doors. It is called "Door Unlock with 1 Motion." They need to change the customized setting from "All doors" to "back door." Please note this is specifically a key fob button customization and not the normal "Select Doors to Unlock" customization that applies to the passenger doors. Hope this helps.

Can you program the rear door how high to open. I know the audi q5 can do it but can lexus? Example, I have a small garage and the roof is lower but I don't want the door to fully open each time.

Hi! Yes, you sure can. Get the door open to the height you want, then push and hold the power close button (the one on the left) until you hear 4 beeps. Then it will be set at the new height. If you need to clear it and start over you can push and hold the button until you hear 6 total beep (first the 4 will sound, keep holding, then you will hear 2 more) then it has been cleared and will rest to the highest height. Hope this helps!

Hi Melissa, On the previous NX model you kindly went through how to lock the car but leave the cargo boot open. We have dogs that we need the car to have this ability. Our local dealer (in melbourne Australia) does not think it is possible with the new digital door locks. Can you please advise if it can be programmed via the centre console or the Lexus dealer to be able to do this as we have the car on hold but can't take delivery if this is not possible. Hi Liney, I will have to try this out for you and see how the new system works. I have found out how to use the manual key to lock the doors with the car running through the emergency key cylinder in the driver's door. It is very well hidden now, but it is technically accessible. It should include the lock for the rear door though. I know the car will still automatically shutoff after one hour and that can not be disabled in the app or the settings on the main screen. I don't have access to an NX to test this on, but will reach out to some other specialists and see if I can get an answer for you. Thanks so much for reaching out.

Hi Again Liney! I haven't been able to try this and don't seem to have access to a vehicle right now. The one at our store is on a test drive and all of the others are sold. However, I have a colleague who was able to access a customization in the computer that might help. It would not allow you to have the engine running, but it would let you open the power back door while keeping all other doors locked. A Lexus Technician would be able to use their Techstream tool to locate: "PBD door unlock with one motion." Change the setting from "all doors" to "backdoor." This would allow you to open the hatch from the key fob (not the large rubber button at the back of the door) and it would not unlock the side doors. I hope this gets you what you need for you and your pups :)

So we would exit the vehicle, lock the vehicle and then if programmed as per above, we could open the hatch from the key fob. Thanks for even thinking of it ;) And yes, you would turn off the car, exit the vehicle, lock the car and then when you open the hatch by pressing and holding the button on the key fob, with this setting, it should only unlock the hatch and not the other doors. I don't seem to have a way for you to leave the engine running and lock with the manual key, because when you do, you have to use the manual key to unlock the vehicle from the driver's door. I hope this still gets you what you need. 🤞🤞🤞
