@@CatSovietski From my understanding of the words that were said, he hates the way they did some of the things they did. Quick example was the connector because it was stupid easy to break. Leaves me to believe that there's likely other shortcuts that were taken that lead to a large dislike of having to work on the cards. I'm hoping I understood correctly in my assumptions.

That 6900xt was definitely opened up and messed with. They come standard with a graphite pad, not thermal paste. Also, the tamper sticker was punctured. Maybe they had the issue, tried a repaste and it didn't fix it. Or it broke while they did the repaste. Who knows. I'm just glad you fixed it as I own the same card and it's given me many hours of gaming enjoyment. PS, that first Picard scared the crap out of me 😆

I have been thinking about your pci-e slot on your motherboard being like the old NES cartridge ports, and getting buggy from too many inserts and removals of gpus. Why not buy a riser cable for it? This would make it so you can keep the cable plugged into the motherboard at all times, and just plug the gpu into the female end of the riser cable. Also, would something like dielectric grease be good for the motherboard connector? Probably not, just a thought anyways, that grease stops corrosion and might help witht he contacts. It could also be a bad idea, this is why I asked here.

I own the i9 14900k , strix ddr5 e gaming WiFi with the strix oc 4090 and if you look at the io shield on the back of the PC case. You ill see when the card is 90bdeg to the motherboard and no pressure on the PCIE hook or slot. Check out what I'm saying and if you want. Let me know your opinion. Personly. I have no problems with any pressure on the pcie that could ever do any damage. I'm very curious of your opinion. This is a question that is like calling a doctor and asking for a diagnosis over the phone. I just purchased a Gigabyte RTX 4070 (new). On my first boot of the morning it runs great and will run great all day unless I reboot for some reason. On reboot it will bring me to the windows login screen and lock up with no mouse. I have tried the shift, ctrl, windows, B key thing to restart the video card but no help. I have to hold down the power button on the pc to shut down. After I let it sit for awhile it will boot up fine and run great as long as I don't reboot or shut down and try to restart. I just want to know if you've ever encountered this problem?
@breakingyourlegs Жыл бұрын
Annoying question, I know but did you remove your old drivers with DDU before installing the RTX 4070? P.S.: not to be mean, but Gigabyte makes very shitty gpus imo. If you're going for Geforce, I'd honestly recommend Asus (TUF) or MSI (Gaming Z or X) now that EVGA is gone. I know their prices are horrendous, but their quality is better. Gigabyte boards are made of wet cardboard 😅 (Aorus being maybe the only exception).
@EXOWill Жыл бұрын
@@breakingyourlegs I bought it when I saw the $5,49.00 price tag lol. I believe you're correct about the quality. In the past, I always stayed away from Gigabyte in general including motherboards.
